Hi,
I am a league leader for 2 of the leagues in Northern Virginia, in Vienna and Fairfax. It looks like the closest active league to you is in Warrenton at a TSG Hobbies.

In case you're like me and have no sense of where cities are, Vienna and Fairfax are further east of Warrenton; both are within an hour from DC. Midlothian is by Richmond. Ararat is down by North Carolina (they're so close to the border they probably go to NC tournaments).
If there are any "unofficial" leagues in Virginia, I would like to hear about them. I know there is one in Woodbridge (about 30 minutes from Fairfax).

No, no one in my area plays. I wish I had some people to play with though. lol.
