This tournament will be run using the Standard Format, 2v2 battles. Only Pokemon native to Kalos will be allowed in the tournament. Trainers will need to fill out a team registration form, and all games will be subject to random hack checks. All Pokemon that you intend to use during this tournament must be deposited in the Battle Box before the tournament begins.

For the complete rules for the 2014 Video Game Challenge, please visit the Official Rules Here, and click on the Video Game Rules and Formats link. However, here's a quick rundown of the Pokemon rules for this tournament:

-All Pokémon must be hatched or caught in the Kalos Region. This is indicated by a Blue Pentagon on the Pokémon's summary screen
-All Pokémon must be in the Kalos Pokedex, specifically Central #1-150, Coastal #1-153, and Mountain #1-147. Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, and Mewtwo are explicitly not allowed.
-Torchic/Combusken/Blaziken, although received in Kalos, are not allowed to be used.

In addition, these battles will be 2v2, where you will bring between 4 and 6 Pokemon into your Battle Box, select 4 of them before each Battle, and that will be your team for that particular round. You cannot change your 4-6 Pokemon team, but you can change which 4 of those 4-6 you bring into battle, and the order they come in, before each round.

Prizes (for each age group):

1st: 40 CP - Kicker 0
2nd: 32 CP - Kicker 0
3rd - 4th: 26 CP - Kicker 0
5th - 8th: 20 CP - Kicker 16
9th -12th: 14 CP - Kicker 32

Tournament Structure:

This tournament will be run using the Swiss pairings, which means that everybody will be playing every round. The Swiss rounds will be single-game, and the number of Swiss rounds will be dependent on the number of players in the tournament.

In addition, once the Swiss rounds are complete, we will then have a Top Cut, which will be run best 2 out of 3 games. The schedule for the Top Cut is per age division, and will break down as follows:

8 Players: 3 Swiss Rounds, Top 2 Cut
9-16 Players: 4 Swiss Rounds, Top 4 Cut
17-32 Players: 5 Swiss Rounds, Top 8 Cut
33-64 Players: 6 Swiss Rounds, Top 8 Cut
65-105 Players: 7 Swiss Rounds, Top 8 Cut
