will be attending Phoenix, and am super excited. First event for Jenn, Ariana, and I since the tournament at Marysville...

quick newbie question though: since it is a sealed event, there likely won't be as many trainer and supporter cards, and the decks are more likely to end up with a wider color pallet than normal. what is a good euqtion to figure how much energy to ask for?

i bought some boosters for Ariana and was showing her a little of how the event might work, and was telling her to base her engery off of how much each pokemon's attack was worth.

for instance, if a pokemon had attacks that cost:

sychic::colorless:
:colorless:

i told her she would need one psychic. doing it that way we ended up with around 14 or 15 energy.

does that sound about right? i'd hate to be setting her up the wrong way for her first sealed event.

Yes, that is about right. I usually have 17 to 18 energies in my deck, and I try to limit it to no more than 3 colors.

We have had to turn people away from Blue Highway Games because of a lack of space, both for the free Premier tournaments and prerelease tournaments.

This will be the second time we have done the two flights, and the first flight "sold out" last time, but the second flight did not.
