Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Washington's Battle Road Autumn 2010

There was just one person I just couldn't beat the whole time: Brad. But hey, my deck went way farther than I expected it to and I am very satisfied about how both the Spokane/Valley BR's went. Thanks to everyone who came, I had a lot of fun.

Everybody in top cut save Kayle was using Trevor W. Sablelock list (please correct me if I'm wrong). Didn't expect such a hug turnout for Phoenix BRs though. Not gonna lie that it was a pleasant surprise.

Yea, mirror matches are not the most exciting games to Judge. Both players played well, but as they had the exact same lists there were no suprises on either side. Micheal won a very close game one, and Kenny rushed Michael in game 2 took a quick lead at the expense of his setting up, so Michael came back and wne in the time +3 . Kenny was up one prize when time was called in game 2, He had taken 4 prizes to Michaels 3. The new rule is making a differance. Last year we would have had a sudden death match.

Kenny was up one prize when time was called in game 2, He had taken 4 prizes to Michaels 3. The new rule is making a differance. Last year we would have had a sudden death match.

Well in that situation, it wouldn't have mattered it the ruling was time +3 or sudden death because on time, I would grab the first ko to tie the game up. Turn 1: Kenny would have to ko one of my sp pokemon w/ his dragonite FB, but it will take him another turn to do so. Turn 2: I would stall a turn with blaziken FB X by luring flame his benched sableye or something else that he can't poketurn while I'm building up a garchomp x on the bench. Turn 3: Kenny would have to buy some time that somehow I can't place that energy onto my blaziken or garchomp( via cyrus initiative) and get his sableye out of the active. In the end, it comes down to who will take the next prize for the game.

However in a different scenario, the +3 turns would have mattered if it took the whole 3 turns to go to sudden death. If it was last year's ruling, the game ends and it would go to game 3.

This is my opinion, if I were judging mirror matches, I think its exciting to watch because it does come down to the better player who makes careful planning and the right plays.

Just saying Jeff.

Spokane was amazing!Best tourney in a long time. Brad was shaking like a leaf against me round 2 :D
I was running Espeon/Umbreon teched with Mewtwo X and Crobat G + 4 Cyrus + 4 Poketurn
I think I would have been top 4 (MAYBE) if I won 4th round. Either way, I broke even with 2/2

Glad to hear Team Lakewood did really well at the Spanaway BR...Thanks for your attendance......and for supporting Mike.......

Cities here were come>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>-

Yeah, Michael would've won either way, if I remember correctly. Head and shoulders above me as a player, ggs Michael!

Sablelock is actually a really fun mirror match. Its less of a race to knock out garchomp c first than the Luxchomp mirror. Anyway, thanks to all the TO's and players for a great Autumn BR season. Washington State has some of the best pokemon people. See you guys in a couple weeks.

LOL... Craziest match of my life bro, Hope we get to do it again ! Down 3-1 prizes on my last turn in sudden death.... it was the +3 turn... I draw a poke turn, then trade off for another poketurn.... use cyrus to grab SP radar another cyrus and an energy, sp radar for crobat g poke turn him for a knockout w/ expert belt, then drag up the garchomp for dragon rush knockout on another expert belt.... was just crazy !
