Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

way to beat a slaking???

Theres always Encore Wobbers.... Just a thought... wouldnt actually go with it though... But it could Effectively counter Hyper or Shadow. Now if Slaking is smart, it iwll Flamethrower..... throwin gyou off a tad, but while it is slacking off, Encore it and Mirror Coat. Sine it is Wobs, make it's nature benicial to Def/Sp Df, and train it in both + HP.....

the endure and reversal technique works best if the pokemon is holding a salac berry. that increases its speed when the hp is down, ensuring the first attack at least. in this case, heracross must take out the next pokemon with one shot.

OK, I dont understand what you are saying about Protect. Do you know how to use it???? Protect will ALLWAYS work every other turn. It drops by 50% each time you use it in succession... example, 1st is 100%, 2nd 50%, 3rd 25%, ect....

That said, Protect against Slaking is a sure thing. Slaking attacks every 2 turns. Protect blocks 100% every 2 turns. So when faceing Slaking do this... Protect, attack, Protect, attack, Protect, attack. There is now way a Slaking can harm you... The only way I can think of it can change this pattern is to Rest, but it still attacks every 2 turns, they are just the alternate turns on which it attacks now....

no, slaking won't have only hyper beam as an attack. it usually has shadow ball, for ghosts as well. a good trainer would see right through the protect attack.

Ok, first off, a well done Dusclops withstands at least 1 Shadow Ball, no matter what or who it is from. Its defense is that high! Plus Burning/poisoning it will start reducing its attack.

Ok, if you are playing Slaking, how do you see through/get out of a Protect Strategy.... other than switching, I dont see a way.... Resting would off set the turns you attack, but the player using Protect would realize that too. Switching would just make me waste a Protect worst case scenerio, but little else..... If there is another way of Slaking to get out of this, then fine, tell me I am wrong, but I cant think of a way for Slaking to get out of a Protect/Attack strategy

no, i mean sure, dusclops can withstand one shadow ball. but what about its health then? it would have to heal. slaking would also need to rest later on due to the burn. but just two hits with shadow ball, and dusclops is out. the thing is, dusclops can't take out slaking in one or two turns. best way i can think of would be a curse.

Ok, so here is scenerio I am seeing, assuming Slaking has rest.... Assuming PP upped moves, Protect is at 16, Shadow Ball is about 24.... battle looks like this

Clops uses Protect (pp15)
Slaking uses Shadow Ball (pp 22??) and misses
Slaking is slacking off
Dusclops uses Will'o'Wisp, Slaking is Burned, losing 10% of HP?
Dusclops Uses Protect (14)
Slaking uses Shadow Ball (20), misses, losses 10% HP
Slaking sits there
Dusclops uses Double Team, Slaking loses 10% HP (30% so far)
Dusclops/Protect (13)
Slaking/Shadow Ball (18), misses, 10% more HP (40%)
Slaking sits there again
Dusclops/Double Team (2 Evasive levels), Slaking 50% HP gone
Dusclops/Protect (12)
Slaking/Rest regains health, loses burn.
Slaking sleeps for 2 Turns, Dusclops DT's up to 4 Evasive lvls
Dusclops/Protect (11)
Slaking/Shadow Ball (16)

it just keeps going..... eventially I would run outta Protects, but I will be super evassive, and Shadow Ball will be gone, I survive through E-quakes, Resting when hit, Lefties helping absorb blows too, and then you have Hyper Beam (useless) and Rest...... I will burn up extra DT and rest, holding out til HB and Rest is gone, then Burn you and laugh as you try struggling me....

Anything I am missing for that 1 on 1 battle?

The one thing I see, would the Slaking player continuously waste its Precious Shadow Balls on you? I don't think so... Probably waste at least a few of the others and save a couple Shadow Balls to deal with that pesky Dusclops. This coming from a Slaking player, also...

well, yeah obviously, but what does a Slaking player do to compensate loosing 2 PP a turn, while trying to hit Dusclops, through either Protect or Double Team.... In a one on one match, this will be a reeeeeally long battle, but depending on luck towards the end, this match goes either way. If Double Tean wins out, Dusclops eventually wins, if Attacks tend to hit, especially 2-3 in a row, Slaking wins. only problem is this match takes a good 30 minutes + to determine....
