Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What does Regionals do for you Rating?

There are a lot of different factors to this. How many swiss rounds do you have? What is your current rating? What do you consider doing well? What were the ratings of the people you played against? etc.

Generally, if you win more than you lose against equal ranked opponents, it will make you go up in points.
If you lose more than you win, you will go down in points.

The actual calculations are based on something like a modified-ELO rating system that's norm'ed to 1600.

K value determines the max points at stake in a given match.

If I am ranked 9001 and my opponent 1, the MOST I can lose if I lose to them is 32 points. (granted, that is an extreme and not really feasible I think example, because if you lose 32 points that means you'd be such that you gain 0 for winning).

If you beat someone with the exact same rank as you, you gain half the K-value.

Generally, 100 points up on someone means you gain 5-6 points less (than 16) for K32 events.

I want to know (in general) if you say top cut at a large tournament (like regionals), what does it do to your premier rating. By this I mean, if my rating is 1600 and I win a regionals tournament, on average what would my rating be after said event? Can you expect to go from 1650 to 1700 after the event? What about 1750? If this were nationals, can you expect to gain even more points than a smaller tournament like regionals or states?

If you manage to win Regionals, you can probably expect your Rating to go up anywhere from 100 to 200 points, depending on your opponents and your overall record (2 losses would probably net you around 75 point, while 0 losses gives you SIGNIFICANTLY more). But it depends on the number of rounds you play, your opponent's rankings at the time they play you, and whether or not you WIN.

THANKS! That is exactly what I was looking for.

if you do well, it goes up, i'd say that if you cut, you should bank about 75 points, depending on how you did in swiss.
