Smart enough? The deck won regionals for a reason. It's a contender, with or without MD.
The orginal ape has a postive matchup against Plox. ;/ And why do people think that Plox is faster then empoleon or any of the other new decks? Cause its not.
Yes cause the emp gets out a claydol and 2 empoleon t3. And I'll gladly take that over your gardy and gallade. Potential toys? It gives every deck potential toys. Magmortar can efficently use omastar (although why people would still be playing magmortar is beyond me). Heck, empoleon can efficently use any tech GG can. I only see what I like to see? I think you're the doing that in this case. GG hasn't had anything to worry about before this set. No huge stage 2 hitter that could do it constantly. This set features several of these. Gallade is a bad attacker late game, so GG will have to donk these new decks if it wants to overpower them. Meaning that players WILL be playing cards to counter wager/psychic lock, such as steven's and copy cat. Sure, the GG player can use these cards as well, but when they are getting overpowered, does it really matter? If I can get out consistantly a Claydol, a Gardevoir and a Gallade by T3 (Although said Gallade kind of thrives on which supporters you have played at this point), then would you still say I'm being outsped by Empoleon?
I am under the impression that you don't see the fact that MD brings Gardevoir even more potentional toys, or that you choose to see only what you like to see - which is a bigger playing field. While that definitely is the truth, in the end GG will still be Tier 1 come nationals. There will just be more competition for the Nr. 1 spot, but GG CAN still come out on top.
Ultimate Dusknoir: The point of Gardevoir attacking? Oh, I dont know. Lets see, I Wager you, leaving you with 3 cards in your hand, then I attack with Gardevoir. Power Claydol you say? Uh, no, sorry, can't do that. See the problem?
