Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

What will take down Gardevoir/Gallade decks?

G&G (or Plox) doesn't have to lose to Banny. It just have to play Blasty (hope that the Banny player doesn't play BF or Cess.) or Dusknoir.

Banette should still have the edge, though.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Btw, V for Vsomething, I don't know if it means anything but his brother just won a states. If you did that, are you a good player? I don't know if they have other good results.

This could be a n00bish question, but how does Dusknoir help the plox vs banette machup? Anyways... I've found that 1-0-1 gatr works wonders vs banette and maggy.

Ducknoir doesnt do anything against Banette, whoever says it does doesnt even know what a pokemon card is.
Banette in NO way needs 4 or more bench to play, thats a completely foolish statement to say it does.
i played Banette all through Cities, i didnt win any (i suck at misplays), but it was still a great deck.
i rarely ever had 4 bench out.
all i needed was a banette active, a minun, a shuppet/banette, and a sableye or another shuppet on the bench.
i always had like 3 at most.
now, however, banette also plays Gorebyss, Claydol, and/or LunaSol.
but they could still easily get away with 3 bench no problem.
banette active, banette benched, claydol benched, lunatone/minun benched.
thats 3 bench, easy peesy.

and Blastiose takes too long and too many resourses to set up, so by the time you have it set up Banette will already be tanning your hide with that fine leather belt of his.
and cess. stops it.

and Banette can easily work with out all its powers.
i use my quick ball and TVR, theres a ban in the discard right there.
Banette doesnt need powers, so psychic lock is just a slow and expensive attack against banette.

Gatr does nothing against it either.

Tech lines just dont cut it against something as fast as Banette.
if you could set up said tech line without going to far out of your way to set other stuff up then it would work alright, but thats usually the problem. you would have to go out of your way to get it and set it up.

After the opponent takes three prizes, Dusknoir OHKO's Banettes for two, or even one energy (DRE and Scramble).

DarthPika, V_For_Vendetta, calm your horses. If you can't argue without putting one another down, then don't say anything.

edit: Actually, that goes for anyone in this thread. I don't want to hear comments like, "if you ______, then you shouldn't even be playing the game" or any comment that might put another down in any way. I will consider that an attack on another member. We can all act like adults and have a peaceful conversation. You can make your point without having to make someone feel inadequate too. So let's try to do that, okay?

First, off, Blastoise d, doesnt really help the Matchup. Here is what happens. Banette, should have a T3 Banette at the latest. What happens if you RC Blastoise d before you RC Gardy? Your gonna have probems. Now, think about if you get a Gardy up. By now, I have should have a Banette attacking and should be powering up a 2nd. Now, you are trying to get up Blastoise d, but I am koing things in one shot and by the time you are able to I have taken enough prizes for you not to come back. It can beat it but it takes a huge amount of luck. I dont expect there to be a lot of Banette at Regionals either way.

Banette doesnt play Gorebyss. You lose sooo much consistancy if your try to stick one of these in there. I tried when I was playtesting for States. You just cant get it out or back when you want to.

I have play tested these decks endlessly on appr with LEGIT players, and have vast knowledge of the matchups. I am quite curious as to who you play, because no one in the Omar Chats (aka the people who MADE and PERFECTED the deck) will play you. I am not a rude person, I simply like to make the lives of completely ignorant pokemon players who would feed others false information a complete ****. So, you can either stop bieng such an arrogant PITA, or you can keep dealing with me over and over and over again.

If you don't think that these players are "Legit" then you shouldn't post here.

Michael Pramawat
Guille Mattos
My Bro (won states with mag)

Don't get to play other ppl that much but I would think that these players are legit.

yea, so it can score two ko's off banette, but banette will ko it right after that (ban #1 does 80, gets ko'd, ban #2 does 40+, dusknoir dies).
or they could go aggro sableye and disable the crap outa dusknoir. then theyll bring somehting else up to attack (or get hit for 40 for 1 energy and not be able to attack), killing sableye, but then also giving you a prize with banette.

i agree with your blastiose point. very true.

and i know most Banette lists dont play them, i was just mentioning them as a whole because some do.
haha

gardy gallade gets pooped on, severly, by banette (and lake boundary of course), i beat a gardy 4 prizes to 0 with a straight banette at a city, and i was running: 8 poke, 40 trainers, 12 energy

it works

ps: crystal beach as well, no stoppin it!

Ninetails/delcatty beats both gardy and bannette
and a turbo magmorter has no problem with gardy gallade, so there's your answer

abou Ninetails/Delcatty???
yeah it was an easy match before the addition of Felicitys, and with my new tweeked list i'm almost 100 percent against GG

your gonna have to explain that one to me. At least the strategy and things that go with it...

master of puppets:no good Banete plays that terrible tech,if it does, its going 1-xx in any tourney its in.

Banette should only have Banettes SW,shuppets,lunasol,claydol/minun and a better tech than gorebyss.

Very well said. :thumb:I've been trying to read this thread but every other post is an insult and/or attack on another player. And even if you think someone doesn't know what their talking about, if you can't be nice then you can let their ignorance be bliss. Chances are, most of us already know if some "fact" may be incorrect. Some people have a lot of faith in their decks and are hurt when people say that their deck supposedly auto-loses to another player's deck.

Dusknoir generally gets two KO's in before it dies (with minimal energy required) and is therefore helpful. I'm not going to say that it wins the match up or anything, I just don't agree with it not doing anything for the match up.
