When a TO reports tournament results incorrectly.....

.... What happens???

My son was checking his stats on a newly reported tournament, and noticed that one win was reported as a loss. So, what happens now? What should we do about it? Can something be done?

Thanks so much!

We're working on a match appeals process for these types of matters, but for now, please email a detailed description of the issue to [email protected], and we will do everything we can to get it straightened out.

Thanks,
Prof. Dav

I don't know about others, but as a TO I myself would like for the person to also contact me to let me know if something was incorrectly posted. That way I can look at the tournament sheets and see if it was my mistake, or one of the judges.

I don't know if you're talking about the Plano GC or not, but the TO there reported the event as LIMITED.

I've sent an e-mail.

Something like that is an easy fix. You did the right thing, old man. It should now appear as Modified on the tournament listing.

I noticed that, too.... And I was wondering if there's a difference. Does it matter whether it's reported as limited or modified? Would it impact the ratings differently?

Yes it would. Limited, Unlimites & Modified are 3 separate categorys each with your own rating.ranking.

Say if your 1650 in Limited & 1800 in Modified. Say again you played in a modified event and did terrible & only won 1 game. That would could change your rating around -60 points. Now if the event was reported as limited then your rating may only change -30 points. This is a very simplistic example. But it does matter.

Ah, I think I gotcha!

So, a small gain in rating due to a tournament reported as "Limited" would actually translate into a larger gain in rating when corrected to report as "Modified"?

Thanks old man. I've been really curious about all that.

That would actually depend on each players current rating. Next time we're at the same tournament remind me & I'll show you how it works & how much a player can gain per match.

Haha, Old Man's example was flawless.

I went a 3-2 record, and dropped 40-something points >_>""

Oh well. Tonighttttt, tonighttttt, I'm gonna win a Pokemon tournament tonightttttt
