Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Where is the Lost Zone?

The PTOs had a very long meeting regarding the lost zone. We consumed massive amounts of Big Macs while discussing this disturbing new game play. At one point we got into a food fight. fries were flying everywhere. Someone threw a whole Big Mac at me and I caught it with my mouth and ate it. After settling down with our bellies full we decided on a final decision regarding......wait, what did we need to make a ruling on, oh yeah, the lost zone.

Ok here it is:

If your opponent puts your cards in the lost zone, this is what you do. You give your cards to the player next to you, he then passes the cards down till the cards reach the end of the table. At the end of the table we'll have a trash can and on that trash can will be a sign, in big bold letters, 10 different colors, and in PTO font "The Lost Zone". The cards go in the trash can. Now, if you're sitting at the end of the table, you just drop your cards in the trash can.

After the PTOs wrote up the final draft for this rule, we gave ourselves a raise and had a chocolate shake.

Hahahaha awesomely funny! I literally LOL'ed while reading this.

It's called the "Lost Zone" because we're not supposed to know where it is. If we know where it is, how is it Lost? Duh.

Honestly, though, I doubt it'll make much of a difference. Like someone said earlier, having it next your Active on the other side of the Supporter "spot" should be fine. Or even your deck box. So far, there's no way of getting anything back, so why not?

I believe I saw that they are suppost to be on the side of the prizes that is away from the playfield.
Also, the Lost Zone, would be public knowledge because afaik, there are only 3 areas of the field where cards are hidden; deck, prizes (face down) and hand

I know some people who would get horribly confused if you put them face up next to your prizes after you flipped your prizes for Gallade's attack.

I was thinking a black fedora beside every game being played. When a card goes to the Lost Zone. Toss it into the hat. Heh.

You could wedge them slightly under the playmat like they do in YGO.

You don't wedge them under the playmat in Yu-Gi-Oh!. You place them near the Extra (used to be Fusion) Deck.

Which essentially would work like placing them near the prizes in Pokemon. Seems logical to me (and a lot less likely that your opponent will be able to cheat since it's not near the discard pile).

Noone wants an unreversable mishap where Lost Zone cards return to play and it's noticed a couple of turns later. (us older Masters are very capable of doing this .. LOL  )

May I suggest something like this:
_____________________________________

Prize
Cards

P P
P P ................. Supporter ........... Active.................... Lost
P P ..................... Area............... Pokemon ................ Zone
......................................................................................................... Deck
......................................................................................................... Area
.......................................................................................................... .........
......................B ..............E.............. N............... C ..............H ...............Discard
............................................................................................................ Pile

Simply have supporters played on ONE SIDE of Active and Your Lost Zone Pile on OTHER SIDE of Active....

It HAS TO BE somewhere in play BECAUSE you KNOW at some point ... they'll be a "Lost Zone Retreiver" power/card/attack which would nessessitate the Lost Zone pile to be accessible througout gameplay.

No, I doubt this. That is sort of the point, that you can't get them back... If they made a card that could get things from the Lost Zone, they might as well call it "Discard Pile 2."

I can TOTALLY seeing an attack for 6 energies (or something rediculous like that) where "if you KO your opponent with this attack, choose 1 card from the lost zone and put it in your hand"

You can't see that ?

I set up identically mirrored to this. I've only been to BRs and Cities..and I plan on going to Regionals for the first time this season. I've never had anyone say anything at a BR or Cities..but do I need to start getting used to it the other way? Because that's not lefty-friendly at all =\.
