Where Should I Begin?

I am totally new to PTCG and have been toying with the idea of joining a league. What cards should I get (or try to get) so I'm not completely humiliated starting out? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

A box of Secret Wonders and Great Encounters should get you started pretty well.

Maybe I should've mentioned that budget is an issue! LOL

Unless you're referring to Theme Decks, a whole box of two different sets is definitely out of the question!

Try to get the cards needed for a Magmortar deck. They are fairly easy to get and shouldn't be to expensive. Or you could try to get the cards needed for a Gallade deck, but that could be harder to do.

If you need to see a basic list for a Gallade or Magmortar just look here on the gym, as there are several posted.

I would at least get the Secret Wonders Magmortrar deck, I think it is called, Lava Flow!!!
