Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Whitewater, WI--santioned modified tournament Nov. 21st at 1:00pm

I was accepted as a TO and have the first sanctioned tournament scheduled for Thursday, October 21st. Registration starts at 4pm, tournament starts at 4:30pm. For directions on how to get there, PM or IM me.

The tournament will be free unless people want to pay, then I'll find some stuff to use as prizes, hopefully will get some prize support in time from POP too.

Let me know if you'll be able to attend, then I can give you directions and such. I'd like an idea of who's coming so I know how many people to expect.

Hope to you there!

If you find people that want to play but don't have cards/didn't bring them with to college/etc.--I should have some extra decks made that people can borrow for the tournament. Goal is to get at least 8 players so it counts towards rankings and is official.

I'll talk to you and matt later to see what days we should santion future tournaments. Monday is the only bad day for me since I have classes from 3:45-5 and 6:15-8:45pm. Anyother day of the week is good for me.

I'll try to get more people to come. We need players!

Who's coming to the tourney tomorrow? If you need directions PM me or IM me (jwizzle866)

We'll have another santioned modified tournament on Sunday, Oct. 31st at 1pm

Upcoming tournaments:

October 28th at 4:30pm (reg. starts at 4pm)--free

October 31st at 1p.m.--$2 enterance fee

Every player will be given one pack of FRLG for entering. For every 6 players I will add 1 pack for top finishers. If people are willing to pay a higher enterance fee I would adjust prizes accordingly.

I know that I, rulemaster, and pokewisconsin will be there and some others from my dorm probably--who else? I'm shooting for 12 players.

Upcoming Leagues (subject to change--may be replaced by tournaments):
Saturday, 10/23/2004 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM
Thursday, 10/28/2004 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM
Thursday, 11/4/2004 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM
Thursday, 11/11/2004 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM
Saturday, 11/13/2004 1:00 PM-3:00 PM
Thursday, 11/18/2004 4:00 PM-6:00 PM

Let me know if you can attend any upcoming events!

Hopefully we can get some of the people from Brookfield to come over too. Remember--it's just $2 and your guanteed a pack of FRLG. For every 6 players I'll add 1 pack for the top players. I wish I was able to participate, didn't realize until after my first tourney that the TO isn't allowed to play.

Got tournament support from POP today so we'll have a few POP boosters as prizes as well.

I have sanctioned a tournament for November 21st as well, the day following Brookfield's city championships. I'll see how this weekends tourney goes before giving details for the next tourney (admission, prizes, etc.)

Just a reminder--today is daylight savings time (didnt realize this until I turned on my computer and it said my clock had been updated). So right now it is about 10:50am. Tourney will start in about 3 hours. Feel free to arrive as early as about noon.

Thanks for the tourney. Here is a quick report.

Round 1 - Eric (Pokewisconsin)
We played a quick game, with me taking out a Bellsprout and Clamperl early. He was forced to stall with multiple Dunsparce, but I ripped those apart quite fast. Go Wailord ex! :p
1-0; 3 points

Round 2 - ???
Forgot her name, but the battle was quick. She was one of Jeff's dorm friends, so she was a n00b.
2-0; 6 points

Round 3 - ???
This game was beleive Jeff's roommate. However, I beat him quickly. VERY quickly.
3-0; 9 points

Round 4 - Matt (Rulemaster)
I started bad, and I ended terrible. However, When I was down to nothing left in my deck, and he had 5 cards left, I PORed my entire hand into my deck which added 7 cards to nothing. Fossil power! :)

Top 4 Cut - Matt (Rulemaster)
What are the odds of playing twice in a row? Well, this time I didn't even get enough fossils to last and was quickly taken out by multiple Team Magma's Groudons.

3rd/4th Place Game - Cody
Cody forfeited to me. He knew he couldn't win, and he had to leave. Thanks. :p

3rd place isn't to bad. Then again, I had never played the deck before, so it did quite well. Wailwall with fossils actually DOES work. ;)

I ened up getting 2nd, losing to Rulemaster in the finals. He took out my Weepinbell before I could get a Victreebel as well as a Bellsprout before I could evolve. Props to everyone who made it to Whitewater. Thanks!

Yup--thanks for making the trip. Had 8 players in all and I believe a good time was had by all. Would have had a few more players but some people from my campus were out of town or busy.

Next tourney I have scheduled is November 21st at 1pm--the day following the Brookfield City Championships. If another City Championship happens to pop up within driving dinstance I will cancel the tournament and go to the CC. I don't expect that to happen though. I want at least one more tournament before then. Not next weekend because of prereleases and I'm assuming weekdays aren't good for the out of towners. Should I make one for November 13th or 14th? Either day bad or better for anyone that could make it? Let me know and I'll sanction it so we can get prize support hopefully.

Hyp--make sure you bring some stuff for trading next time!

Everyone--let me know what kind of stucture you want for future tournaments as far as admission and that goes. The higher the admission and players--the better the prizes of course. Also, I could have it so everyone gets at least 1 pack or have the top X number of players get larger prizes and the lower finishes get no packs or whatever. Any and all ideas and suggestions are welcomed. I don't know about the weekend of the 13th--but i may be able to have some TRR packs to use for prizes for November 21st if that's what people want. LMK!

Thanks again to all those who came--look forward to seeing you all again.

Anyone know if they're coming on the 21st yet or what prize structure you want (the higher admission, the bigger the prizes)?

I wish I could go out there and play against you guys again- I will be at the City Championship in Plainfield IN on that day. I'll see you guys on the 20th at Brookfield.

Ok, looks like you have quite the CC schedule there. Once I complete my 4 tournaments I'm hoping I can get a CC here in whitewater as well.

Possible dates depending on how quickly I could order and receive the product and other events going on:
Dec. 4th
Dec 5th
Dec. 12th
Jan. 22nd
Jan. 23rd

The December 18th weekend I'll be studying for final exams--I can't go to the Green Bay CC since I found out today I have an exam that Monday. Was hoping the only ones I had to take would be before the weekend. And then I'll be home in De Pere (by Green Bay) from about December 22nd until January 16th or 17th so wont have a whitewater CC during that time. Then the 22nd/23rd is the last possible weekend to have it.

Everyone can let me know which dates may cause conflicts. I know Niles has their CC on Dec. 11th, that's why it's not on my list of dates to have my CC.

Jason--w/e happened to you at the Manitowac pre? That placing doesn't look very attractive :p
