i looked through all of the legal copy and it kept referring to Team Compendium as the owners/operators of this site, and i was wondering who Team Compendium was comprised of, and what their handles are on the forum?

there are some people that i assume are on Team Compendium, but i hate making assumptions.

and while the legal text says that the site is not affiliated with Pokemon USA, there is a relationship, even if no deeper than that of buyer/seller of ad space. i was wondering if Team Compendium provides Pokemon USA with user information, statistics, i.p. addresses, etc, or sells said info.

    thanks

yes, i read the privacy policy, twice. it is in "legal-speak" which is generally designed to be understood only by lawyers (generally), and which did not address the questiont hat i specifically asked.

SO I WILL ASK MY QUESTION FOR A THIRD TIME. feel free to answer it this time. i was wondering if Team Compendium provides Pokemon USA with user information, statistics, i.p. addresses, etc, or sells said info.

i am asking as i was pondering whether a fan site can provide objectivity while selling ad space to the product they are a fan of.

so please, may i have an answer to my question? a real one?

Many message boards have ads for products that the message board deals with.

I'm no lawyer, but I interpret that as "no."

    Oh, but wait!

So, the answer is, if you do something illegal, don't count on them not to give out your information, but they won't sell or rent your info.

    Chris has it correct.
I didn't realize you had already read that because you just referenced legal text, not that specific legal text.

thank you for an honest answer. legal text, to me, generally seems to be written so as to be as ambiguous as necessary, allowing for as many unseen future difficulties as possible, and when i read it my head generally feels like it's going to explode.

i know that with video game magazine's (and sites these days) editorial content is often based on a fear of offending their advertisers. EGM, my favorite mag, has been threatened many times, by many companies, to have their ads removed if their games did not receive better scores. their stance has always been for the blackmailing companies to get bent.

and while i would hope that pokemon usa would not stoop to such tactics, all businesses must protect their legal interests at all times.

the mods here go to great lengths to protect the integrity of the content here, due, i assume, to the somewhat youthful nature of pokemon. this i understand, as i censor the content at league, to the point where i encourage the kids to say that pokemon are knocked out (as they love to say killed; i'm also a huge pacifist).

just trying to wrap my head around the whole process of editorial direction.

    thanks.

I never noticed before now, but the bio page capitalizes qasic's name. His name on the original 'Gym, however, wasn't capitalized.
