If you live in Europe is it possible to win a trip to the World Championships or some other big tournament, like back in the days with the STS?

I havn't played in a while, so I am not up to date.

Thanks!

If you don't know who's your country's national distributor (of Nintendo products), someone at you local cards & gaming store should know. Ask them for name, email adress or best of all, an internet forum like this in you native language. This way you'll probably find out if your country supports a trip to Worlds, or even if they HAVE a National Championship in your country. This differs thru Europe. Some countries hvae alive and kicking Organized Play, and otherplaces are not so fortunate...

I live in Denmark.

I did look on the official Pokemon TCG site here and on it's forums but couldn't find anything about it.

Thanks! :thumb:

Denmark had National Championships last year with 101 players, and I'm fairly sure they also gave away trips to Worlds... Where in Denmark do you live? There might be a league around you could go to.

Thanks, that's good to know, hopefully they will do that again. :thumb:

I live in 'Aalborg', the three leagues that used to be here all closed down some years ago, I don't know if a new one has started up since then, but will try to find out. Thanks again.

(this is pokegymfan, found out I had an old accont)

That is weird, maybe it's an error.
They only mention the Swedish city championships on the site, so I don't know if they have anything to do with OP in Denmark at all.

Time to contact them methinks .. :D

In addition to the National Championships in each country, there may be some international Stadium Challenges in Europe. This year there was only one, last year there were some more. I really hope for more than one Stadium Challenge next year, because National Championships are now closed and some countries don't have any, so Stadium Challenges would be the only chance to participate in Worlds for some European players.

Unfortuantely that requires Local Distributors (LD's) to work together and spread the cost and so far the only joint challenges that are being organised are not open to players outside the participating LD's countries.

So if your LD is doing nothing in country I guess it is even more unlikely they will want to fund events outside it!

Stadium Challenges need to be driven by PUI and POP at a Supranational level. Europe needs to be treated to some minimal standards and that are enforced all we can do is wait and hope that we may see minimal standards of OP applied worldwide.
