Activities

In addition to the main TCG and VG tournaments we will have LOTS of side event activities to keep players and family busy all day. While the main event tournaments are open to everyone we know that the key to a memorable weekend is offering a variety of activities in addition to those tournaments. The list below are some of the most popular activities offered in side events, but you never know what the staff will come up with to challenge BOTH our video game and trading card game players.

“Win a Playmat” Pick-up Tournaments - Saturday and Sunday (Cost $5.00 per player): We have a large supply of Kyogre mats and Groudon mats that we will be giving out as prizes in six or eight player pick-up TCG or video game tournaments. These mats are spectacular and the only place you can get them is at one of the Winter Regionals. Sign up for either a VG or TCG six or eight player tournament in the side event area and the winner will get one of these fantastic play mats. Second place will get three booster packs from recent sets.

Video Game Premier Challenge Tournament - Saturday (Cost $5.00 per player): Video Game players can get in some practice on Saturday and perhaps earn some Championship Points in the process by playing in a VG Premier Challenge tournament. Tournament registration is at 11:30 AM on Saturday. The tournament will start around noon. The registration fee for the VG Premier Challenge is $5 for all players and top finishers will receive Game Stop or Nintendo gift cards and Pokemon themed merchandise. The prizes increase as the number of players increase so bring your friends!

Trading Card Game League Challenge Tournament - Sunday (Cost $5.00 per player): TCG players will have plenty to do on Sunday even if they don’t make top cut. At 10:30 AM on Sunday players can register in a League Challenge tournament to earn Championship points and some other great prizes, including the Kyogre/Groudon playmats. Prizes will be determined by the number of players, and in addition to the playmats we will have boosters and other Pokemon merchandise in the prize pool.

League Play (FREE): You can win stuff just by playing your video game or battling with your TCG deck. Like the Pokemon League you attend at home, the League desk at side events will reward you for battling a friend (or a new fried you just met at the event). Battle throughout the day (main event battles do not count) and report your results to the League desk where you can win all kinds of Pokemon merchandise.

Raffles and Drawings (FREE): The MEGA-RAFFLE is a NW tradition at States and Regionals, and we have some FANTASTIC items again this year. You get an entry ticket when you register for the TCG or the VG tournament!!! There are lots of ways to get entry tickets and they’re FREE. You get another ticket in each of the first four rounds of the TCG tournament. You get tickets for side event activities and League play. The drawings will be after round four of the main event each day.

Raffle items include a sealed booster box, a 2014 Worlds kit, an OP Player’s Kit and other great Pokemon merchandise. There will be three raffles each day. You must be present to win and the drawing will be at the start of round five of the main tournament each day. We will also do random giveaways some rounds for Pokemon items such as playmats, caps, deck boxes and sleeves.

Pokemon Store: It wouldn’t be a NW Regionals without the Pokemon Store. You’ll want to arrive at 8:00 AM on Saturday when the doors open, get registered, and then head over to the store. The store has lots of very cool items, but some are in limited quantities. There are items directly from Japan, and of course there will also be the traditional things, like boosters and theme decks at great prices. While the store opens at 8:00 AM both days, you will want to arrive early on Saturday for the best selection of plushies and other limited items.
