Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Woah! I just realized this about Porygon2!

It lacks the phrase, "You can't use more than one Download pokepower per turn." That looks like if you have more than one on the bench, and you can use it too, along with your normal supporter use per turn.

I thought it was good before, but even moreso now! So unless it's errataed before States/Provincials, I can see lots of people using more than one benched Porygon2's powers.

Ok, so I guess I'm just a little slow to catch onto things if I just thought of that now!:nonono:

Now people have a better reason to play 4-4-4 in a deck. Its nice you glanced that over for us.

Yeah man, I speak on all of Pokegym's behalf when I say, "You ruined states, man!" (Just kiddin', but nice going. You blew the states, really :nonono:.)

Guys what do you think is better, Porygon2 or Clay Doll?
It really depends on the deck.

Anyone who says Porygon2 isn't mad crazy acceleration just hasn't tested it. In the small testing I've actually done with the card (in a PorygonZ deck), I've found it to be MAD acceleration combo'd with scott. It's crazy. It's about the only redeemable quality about PorygonZ at the moment for me.

I don't think it'd be that mad to splash Porygon2 into other decks without the Z.

In this particular case, a deck devoted to getting out Porygon Z will, of course, have alot of the stage 1's out. Thats why you see so much acceleration in that deck.

But after you have all these Porygon evos out and are drawing lots of cards, where did it get you? You still must rely on the Z to do the attacking, and its attack is too unreliable to guarantee kos on Magmortar, Gallade,Gardevoir, ect. Also the entire deck starts to fall apart after 1 Psy lock from Gardy, much like Ninetales. You no longer have the ability to change your type, but also lose your engine in the process.

In a deck where you would try to abuse Porygon 2 as support, I don't see the point in being able to use more than 1 Porygon 2 power a turn. You have to devote alot of space to ensure that you can use 2 powers a turn(3-3 line minimum), and you give a Gardy player the option to fetch out anything from their deck.

Thanks, I do what I can :thumb: Every now and then I like to challenge a few brain cells - even if they turn out to be mine!

Not really. Porygon 2 is only good in a porygon z deck. Otherwise Claydol>porygon 2.

Naaa, I can think of many decks it could be added in and fit just fine. How about that evil puffball deck in the deck forum? It can be modified to work with this, and I know of one strategy with a Delta card which will make it extremely hard for G&G. Sorry but I can't tell you what it is, since the idea wasn't mine, and I know of a family that plans on using it. You don't have to have PorygonZ in a deck with porygon2. However, if you happen to be lucky with the coin or dice, with the right discarded energy, EDIT: 80 per heads is pretty decent. And a well placed unown G does wonders. I wouldn't discount either using just Porygon 2 or adding Porygon Z

My deck uses Porygon2 and PorygonZ and another pokemon, this combo is so good I'm not telling anyone before states.

So yeah, it does depend on what deck it's in.

Anyways what happens when you draw 2-3 mulligan cards? Claydol ain't looking so hot right there...

Many decks don't want to provide space for 2 supporting pokemon. Either way, you get 0 draw lategame.
Late game you will already be set up, you silly goose.

It's the original boost of speed for your setup which makes it so good, PT. After that point, sure, it tends to lose it's usefulness unless there is a Porygon Z in the deck, but in a pinch can at least be a good sacrifice for a scramble or ....

I was testing a Porygon Z deck on redshark and one time I had gone through all my supporters after only a few turns. The ability to get the quick set-up is great but late game using all those supporters might be harmful. You can always use Night Maintenance to get pokemon back in your deck but if you dont have supporters to find them you could be in trouble.

Imo, any deck that wants to use Porygon2 doesn't mean it has to be dead weight only for the Poke-Power; tech in a PorygonZ or two, he still has great damage potential for only 2 Energy, making him easy to power up in a pinch with DRE, Scramble, or Boost.
