Hello all...

At a tournament I attended a while back, I did some deck checks ....

When I looked at the decklist and deck contents, there was one extra card in the deck..

When questioned, the player stated that the extra card was from the other cards "stored" in his/her deck box along with his/her playing deck....The judges addressed the situation and the adequate dispostion taken..However. this situation should have been avoided....

I would strongly CAUTION PTOs, TOs. Professers, etc. to mention this to their players...

DO NOT STORE EXTRA CARDS IN YOUR DECK BOXES!!!

I was playing in a tournament and my son won some pokemon cards as a door prize..He began to open them (as usual, he was exicted to win) but it was just before his match started, I immediately asked him for the cards and put them in a safe place away from the playing area. He got them later..
I feared he might put the cards in his deck box to"store" them for safe keeping...I did not
a potential problem....

See I have done this, but in my case I dont see it to be a big deal. My decks are in sleeves, and the extra cards are loose. I have only done this when I was given or won a card/cards before the tourney and had no other place to store them. Seeing as how my deck was in sleeves, I didnt alter my deck, and anyone who questioned it could easily have the judge do a deck check to make sure my deck was exactly as i listed prior to the start of the tourney, I didnt see much of a problem.

Now to those who dont use deck sleeves, yes, this would present a huge problem. It would be easy to accidentally place the card into your deck, and you could be given a warning and or disqualified.

I could see why this could present a problem, but I for one have attenended some events with only my deck and a dice bag. I didnt really have a place to store my cards, and I dotn have a parent who can hold on to them for me at the events. But like I said, my decks are all sleeved, so telling the cards apart is easy enough, and no way to accidentally insert the card/cards into my decks....
