Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds 2011 - San Diego, CA USA

Funny enough, I was perhaps going to Gencon next year. I'd love to see something pokemon there during Worlds times.

If the location is indeed San Diego again, the Pacific theater should be very lucky they got it again this year as it was a secondary option. Florida was definitely the primary choice.

Worlds will NEVER be in Florida again. It was there two times, and each time a hurricane hit. Florida will not get the chane for this to happen a 3rd time.

Just watch as they have a major earthquake in Cali and that will be the end of worlds there. :p

I'll take a Hurricane over an earthquake any day.

im happy it in San Diego i have a (1/25 to go my mom and dad for paying for a trip)( 1/15 for me

Worlds in Cali multiple times - 0 earthquakes
Worlds in Florida multiple times - hurricanes each time

Hmmmm.....I'll take Cali ;)

But realistically, TPCi favors the west coast -- I'm sure they have good reasons why.

if they booked 2012 already don't you guys think it's going to be hawaii again. i mean you need to book early for hawaii

They always book 2 years in advance. Not for Hawaii or expenses, but they are renting out an entire hotel for the world championships - it takes years of planning for these thing. I highly doubt it is in hawaii for 2012.

I am not bias to any of the Worlds locations. Anything outside of being in the extreme upper midwest is a plane ride anyway. I do, however find the weather/mother nature arguements to be interesting.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didnt Hawaii experience a huricane and an earthquake the day after 2007 Worlds? Both on the same day; or perhaps one after the other. Yet it seems PUI was very willing to go there again this year. I am not too sure what exactly goes in to all of the decission making as to where Worlds will be held every year, but unless a catastrophic storm or earthquake hit, and a bunch of players were injured, etc, I doubt that weather has a great deal to do with it.

I do like the idea of Worlds being in different locations every year. I enjoy seeing other cities that I may not normally get to see. Is it expensive, YES. Pretty much anywhere you go now days is. Is it going to stop me from attending events? NO. As long as I can afford it, I will be there. If I cant, there is always the chance to go next year. And who knows, it may be in a city I would really like to visit.:thumb:

I think it all comes down to weather.

It would be a dissaster if weather complications prevented people from other countries to attend. I guess the chances of that happening are more likely on the east coast. Especially if you are planning something 2 years ahead. I guess after complications already happening in the past in florida, plus the fact that san diego had record breaking attendance for grinders, you can expect more west coast events happening from now on. And yep, I believe 95% that 2012 worlds will be in hawaii again.

And the west coast vs east coast arguements are gettting stupid. This isnt 2pac vs Biggie.

Im from the west coast, but If I had to choose where I would like to play worlds I would definately pick orlando or new york. Theres no arguement that those cities are beautiful and full of attractions, but when it comes to planning a huge event like this, I dought that they go by which city is the coolest. They want a place where the weather will be PERFECT and that will still have attractions. I know it must suck for you guys on the east coast, but life is not fair.

Looks like if you book your flight early early early for next year, you will save major bucks.

Memphis to San Diego right now (can only book July 2010) will only run about $300, which is less than half what we paid for Anaheim in 2005.

Just an early note to those who want to make it next year..save your pennies and plan eary

Why does it have to be in Florida if it's on the East Coast? If people are afraid of hurricanes or heat, just move it up the coast!

first of all. this isnt worlds cause the 80% of players are only americans/jpns
brings worlds in europe.

I've come to the conclusion that most of the West Coast, including POP, seems to think that Florida IS the East Coast. NY, PA, MD, VA, NC + SC, GA, DE, etc... they're all just a myth!
