Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds 2014

Just to give a more recent confirmation, I asked about the location when speaking to a Pokemon PR rep last weekend at US Nationals. He confirmed it is the Walter E. Washington center, and I let him know it wasn't listed on the convention center website. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

The best you're going to get at the moment in terms of it being officially in writing.

At least that looks like it came from Pokemon. What is it?

it was printed in the booklet included in the 2013 worlds decks :)

And we know all competitive players buy those. Seriously, why do we continue to struggle with basic communication of facts from Pokemon? The date and site has been known for at least a year. Why is it not just published on the website somewhere?

The aforementioned Worlds booklet.

Before they changed the website completely, there was a (albeit, a tad hard-to-find) page that listed it. I believe it was an oversight when they changed the way they showed Championship event series.

I figure this is a good place to ask, but with the World Championship can spectators go just to watch? Should I expect there to be merchandise on sale? I want to go just to watch the events as they unfold and do I have to pay to enter?

There's an open gaming room and typically chairs setup around the play area for spectators to sit in. I expect there'll be a lot of spectators given it's on the East Coast (a rarity for Worlds) this year, which'll probably make it crowded.

Nothing's certain until TPCI says so, but there's always been a retail store to buy binders/hats/t-shirts/plushes/etc. The popular stuff (playmats) sells out quickly though, so if you want that, you typically have to line up early.

For one thing, Competitor Check-in is from 5-7PM on Friday night, with the Players Meeting immediately following at 7PM Friday (including the collecting of decklists). This is all per the event listing on the event locator.

I'm assuming that you divided this up by Friday, Saturday and Sunday right?

If so it sounds like it will be a lot of fun just to go and buy merchandise. I'll definitely go just for that alone! Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for more info as it comes out.
