OK, I already Know im going to world even if I don't win an invite, my question is if I don't get an invite can I still go in and trade and watch and hsang out? I have my hotel room reserved but it might be kind of a waste to get it for 4 days if I lose the grinder and can't hang out anyways. does anybody know about this? Can I play in side events for fun?

Based on what I saw from last year anyone could walk in and "watch". As well as talk, play (on the side of course), trade w/e. There were many other events besides the main tournament like artist signings, Pokemon Rocks America and a room with Pokemon on TV!!!! :eek:
So basically yeah.
 
They also had side events both days (especially multiple Pre-Releases on Sunday) and had league both days too. It is definitely worth it even if you don't qualify for the World Championship.
 
last year there were lots of fun side events, league play with some cool prizes, drafts, and the prerelease.

It was the most Pokemon fun I've ever had.

(And seeing that I am a regular attendee at Sensei's tournaments, that's saying something!)

There were lots of cool side events. I almost wished I hadn't qualified so I could do all the other stuff (after I went 0-3 that is =P)

Last year all thier events besides booster drafts were free. You can go into the hall and watch all worlds matches with no problems. Its a great place to hang out and have fun. The leauge runs both days and the prizes are O_O amazing. Promos,nintendo electronics,pokemon watches and so much more. Its very much a great time if you miss the invite from the girinder because you will be able to play in all sorts of side events,meet new people all over the hall and if your tired then you can also coast in the bean bag area and watch pokemon cartoons. Last year jimmer was there wathcing over the area while the pokemon cartoons ran and the video games were played.

I will never forget last year as the best 3 days of pokemon i ever experienced. I know this year will definilty be just as good. :biggrin: :thumb: :pokeball:
 
that sounds AWESOME :clap: :clap: .i wish i could go if i didnt get an invite : (.if it was in florida i could probably go.
 
I make an effort every year nomatter where worlds is to take the trip from NY over to the event because its the ebst 2-3 days of pokemon in the year. Good buddies,fun times and nomatter what really nice stuff when i elave. Also with the grinder its a chance to play in the best toruney of the pokemon year. I recoomend if ypou ahev a chance to win a trip to worlds strap in your ebst deck and play your ehart out because if you win you will have a great weekend whereever worlds falls,this year sunny san diego which is a beautiful destination with alot of fun places to visit.
 
Hopefully next year worlds will be at the world's biggest mall (West Edmonton Mall) Edmonton Alberta CANADA ^_^ XD haha in my dreams, we're going to have a run for are money getting the natinals over there due to a lack of players, well a lack of the knowledge of the leagues and whatnot....Only if every knew what they were missing....(best attendence since nintendo took over....Alberta Provincals At Mission Fun & Games in St.Albert = 42 players) (higest league recorde ever....52 players at one of the leagues when pokemon first game out....)
Well...its better than 8 players like we had for a few weeks there....
 
Its a fact that since thier beggining with this game nintedo has a weird facination of holding big events in hotels and convention centers hooked to hotels so sadely i cant see worlds go to a mall unless its attached to a hotel,its a nice fantasy and id love to ride across the border to go to a worlds but it may not happen.

You can always enter the last chance tourney, too. I know of a few people who actually got into the championship that way.


I might end up having to do that ^^

I'll get to do all of this free of charge. And possibly playing depending on how I do at gyms and grinders. Lucky me. :D
