Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds Best 2 of 3?

Great suggestions!

You obviously know what you are talking about when it comes to organising major events.

I mean, how hard can it be?

How dose this change how the entire event should be organized?
You make more time for swiss, bump T32 to next day and then bump everything a to a bit later, worlds day 2 did not end late last time i checked, yes all the ceremony will be later and VGS starts a bit later too but thats not bad, and for the extra time needed to clean up, im sure pokemon can afford to pay for a bit more if they needed and i dont think the hotel would not give them the extra time considering they use them every year.
So yes its not that hard to organize a major event, maybe they should make me do it.
Also i think we may be getting a bit off topic to the question now and i dont want to start a flame war or anything.

you have to also remember, the venue costs money, and I think the fact that the hall shuts down at a certain time, means they charge by the hour, so they allot a HARD time for the event, and work around that. Remember, budget is key

I'm opposed because it would lessen the impact of Tyrogue donks on the outcome of the tournament.

That's actually not true. It would weaken their impact. There would be more T1 wins, but they'd have less impact. Think of it this way: If someone Tyrogue's you T1 and you lose in Best of 1, the match is over. In 2/3, while it is more likely to occur once, it does not necessarily eliminate you.

That's what I said... Tyrogue would have less of an impact on the outcome of the tournament.

That would be really nice, but don't you think it would take to much time for a round then?

I have been supporting Bo3 for a long time now. I say that the do

Bo3
30 Minutes
+5 turns
Loser of game 1 must take at least 4 prizes to make game 2 count
Allow Draws

Why 5 turns? Because I think it would make games much more interesting than +3 without sacrificing too much time for the tournament. Why only 30 minutes? Because 40 minutes would probably drag tournaments out too long when paired with +5 turns.

With Bo3, donks wouldn't have as much of an effect. Sure it would give a significant advantage for the "donker", but I think the better player would win in these cases

Realistically, most of those wants will not be fulfilled.(especially draws) However I at least ask for Bo3

but you can't have best-of-three at big events without draws. (or some other way of ending ties at time without holding up the event: flip a coin and double loss are the only available options right now, neither of which is satisfactory)

I meant like how top cut works

I really do think draws should come back to the game, but there is no way it is happening in time for worlds. Maybe for BRs, but not worlds

I don't know. Is it good that people can win 5 games and draw their way to top cut without risking points in a tournament? Methinks no.

There are ways of pairing the final round to make it bad for one of the players to draw. But you don't have to do that: iirc magic allows the higher ranked player entering the cut to chose to go first. Probably a bit strong for pokemon but then again it would probably fix the curse of the first ;) . Or you can simply ban draws in the last round of swiss. No need to remove draws in every other round if you are afraid of the ID.

The wholesale removal of draws was overkill if the problem being addressed was IDs.
