So I made it in already and I'm wondering where exactly do you stay If the place being being held at is 250 plus or does pokemon already have the rooms booked for worlds competitors?

Thanks

the only players who would already have a room reserved/paid for would be those with paid trips/hotel. players with invites only must make and pay for their own travel/lodging arrangements.

Im going for grinders and I have a hotel in chula vista. Its only a 15min drive to the world's and the hotels are 1/2 the price for the same quality you would find downtown san diego. I found mine on Orbitz.com. A penthouse suite with a living room, bedroom, and two plasma t.v.'s for only $100 a night. Standard rooms were only like $65.

if you are planning to grind in i would make sure i left in PLENTY of time on the thursday. the hotel you're in might state it's a '15 minute drive from downtown' but they don't say at what time of the day it takes 'only' 15 minutes.

traffic and parking downtown aren't fun at any time of the day. with the grinder registration starting at 9 am you'll be fighting normal commute/workday traffic and parking to get there. be warned: allow yourself PLENTY of time to get there and park.

Yea, I was planning leaving early anyway. I heard a lot of people with be waiting there at times as early as 6a.m. I plan to leave around 7 get some breakfast and head over there. I've took a vacation in san diego last year and stayed in chula vista, so i already know how it is.

As for staying at the omni, thats okay, but I'll be with about 8 people and to get those types of rooms we need at least 2 or 3 and that would cost up to 200-300 a night. The suite I got has plenty of room for us so I just took the better deal even tho its a 15min drive. If It was just me and someone else I would probably stay downtown.

the hotel told us there are a few lots just next to the convention center. I am betting there is tons around since the baseball stadium is right there too.

Yeah, there is no such thing as free parking in San Diego. Be prepared to pay at least 15 a day per vehicle. Welcome to California.

luckily the padres are out of town next week during worlds, but ARE playing a homestand vs. ATL and NY this week starting tonight. good luck finding parking...:p

yah their are plenty of places to go to stay as long as you be shure to leave early so you get parking and also account for traffic

If you are staying at the Hilton give them a call because we got a better rate PLUS a free night so our cost went from $1000 for 4 nights to $600 for 4 nights!
