Worlds Invite by Zone - Where's Japan?

Japan takes care of it's own OP, and AFAIK their invites are not included in the numbers from POP as POP handles OP worldwide _except_ for Japan.

My real question is does anybody have any idea how many from Japan will be invited per age group? It would effect total rounds of swiss and the top cut.

Just don't know.

Also, pardon my ignorance but what is AFAIK?
 
For Masters

Japan 8
N America 20 (incl ranking)
Europe 20 (incl ranking)
S America 4 (incl ranking
Asia 4-5 (incl ranking
Top 4 2006 4
Grinder 4
 
Is there only 16 countries in Europe with OP?:O

And are those numbers confirmed? Bacause then 12 from Masters USA gets in via Nationals, that would be extremely unfeir for us in Europe
 
Frankly, I'd be surprised if the numbers are right for Asia Pacific. While there's eight countries listed for the region, half of them don't have proper OP. Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Singapore are the only ones who've run Premier level tournaments thusfar.

I do wonder what will happen to the invites that were allocated to countries which couldn't supply a candidate. Hopefully, they'll be given to ranked people in the region, who otherwise missed out on an invite. Somehow though, I know that they'll probably be given to people at the grinder.

Most likely, they wont be given out at all.
