Worlds Rating Invite Questions

I just want this clear I'm not taking shots at anybody this is an honest question. I was looking at who got rating invites. Why is the cut off for NA in the 1840s but for other places it is just over 1700. Do they/you have fewer tournaments? Is the skill level more even? Why?

APAC have fewer tournies.....
Most players only attends like a City, a State and a Nationals once per year...

Probably a combination of factors. Fewer tournaments is probably the biggest culprit, but you also have to take into account player density, tournament length, and relative skill of players. I get the feeling that the US has a much sharper dropoff than a lot of other countries.

It's a combination of things. Most probably the fact that we have less tournaments overall, and that in smaller countries like The Netherlands, at every tournament, *all* the good players show up, cos it's easy to travel around. That means that every tournament, you're facing at least 2 or 3 other potential Worlds invitees, making your chances at losses bigger, meaning you go 4-2 more often than you go 6-0 even if you're a top player.

Also, I just realised another reason.

The tournaments in Europe are much smaller than the tournaments in the USA. Meaning that if you go undefeated, you go 6-0 at most tournaments (except a few States and Nats) instead of 7-0 or more. Also makes INTL ratings lower than US ones.

Mainly its all matters the playerbase.

Becuz of that, there arent so many really high ranked.

Before Nats my ranking was 1824, but like 90% of the field at nats had like 1640 on rankings.
I went 4-2 and lost about 3 points. Each victory i got like 11 points. So even if i'd end-up 7-2 i'd have ended with less than 1850.
Brazil is such a big country, but the ranked players are all in the South/Southest area.
