Worlds Trip Awards Refund

My friend Alessandro won the Italian National Championships last June, thus gaining free flight and stay for Worlds, but he had already booked and payed his trip before that.

I know you can ask for a refund if you can prove those bookings, so I suggested him to e-mail Customer Service and forward the request. However he did this three times in the last two months and still got no response, nor even the automatic one.

We don't know what to do, as we're aware that sending mails over and over won't be of any help if it's just a matter of tasks priority (and we sure think CS as far more important things to do by now), but not getting the automatic response worries us. Maybe the spam filter blocked the e-mails for some kind of reason?

What I would like to know is if there are any problems for us to leave next Wednesday without any official answer or there's a chance by doing so that his trip award would get "invalidated" or not reimbursable.

Thanks in advance,

Marco

I'd bring the info to Worlds, and then talk to someone from Pokemon like Dave or Pete, and hopefully they can help you if you explain the situation and then show then the info on your flight. However, email customer service is still a good way and hopefully you will eventually get a response.

Did you try [email protected] ?

I know in the past, they refunded a prepaid trip/flight when a person won a trip. The amount refunded was the amount TPCi would have paid for the trip and hotel, not always what you paid. The yr this happened for my son, we got our check at Worlds. You had to send the info on your costs ahead of time. Since we are so close to Worlds, I suggest taking your info on how much you pd, etc with you and present it to the OP reps to see if anything could be done. You probably wont get anything there, but maybe later. Good luck!

Keith

PS Check your spam folder. TPCi wont have a spam filter on for 1 piece of email from you. Also, did you email them to let them know he was accepting his spot at worlds? I would find the info desk/early regis. area ASAP when you arrive to make sure Alessandro is entered in. There is a list of players on the op website for worlds participants. Check the list!

Dave or Pete doesnt handle that. I know Maki did ours years ago. They could steer them in the right direction though.

It looks like we only recieved one email but it was responded to last month. He is marked on our books as attending so just have your friend look for Brad at Worlds and he will make sure we take care of Alessandro.

I think you're referring to my email, where I confirmed our participation, and not Alessandro's.

But nevermind, you answered my question. Thanks a lot Dan (and Drew and Keith)!!!

Nope, I am referring to the email where Alessandro contacted us about the fact that he had already booked.
Glad we were able to help though!
