Just like what the title says. Found the new xy tins at my local walmart here in Illinois. Don't have scans but I can tell you that it come with the promo Xerneas EX xy07 and Yveltal EX xy08. Packs inside are 2 xy, 1 legendary treasures and 1 plasma blast. They sell for $17.98. They also have the new trainer kit. Don't know what's inside but it has sylveon and another pokemon shown on the window and sells for $11.98.

Didn't spot the trainer kit, but did grab one of each of the tins.

Packs were these (your results may be different):

2 X/Y
1 Legendary Treasures
1 Plasma Blast

Got a Lugia EX from a Legendary Treasures & a Full-Art Venusaur EX.
So as usual I did have good luck with the tins.

BTW is Gourgiest & Trevant REALLY rare or something?
I have bought at least a box worth of packs by now, and haven't got 1.
Also seem to be lacking Professor Sycamore (only have 2).

Anybody got a list of what's in the Trainer Kit?

Um, Sylveon
Granbull
Snubull
Fletchling
Ekans
Arbok
Noibat
Noivern
Pumpkaboo
Gourgeist
Um, what else, Bulbapedia

...and to think that I was looking through the cards a few minutes ago. How can I not remember the exact contents? Totally off the wall maaaaaan.

Just to let everybody know here, I bought this at a Wally-World in Canada for $12, and everything is pretty much $3 over MSRP there. Did I get ripped off? Hell yeah, but that's what I get for not waiting for LGS to have them in stock.

Do you think the trainer kit should be updated every year with two 30 card decks that are different from the previous year?

Something like XY trainer kit version 1, XY trainer kit version 2 for the one that would be released in 2015 etc.

I would personally like to see improved Trainer Kits rather than more Trainer Kits. Every store nearby still has a large pile of BW Trainer Kits simply sitting on store shelves. Maybe more exclusive cards. They certainly had a lot to choose from based on the recent promotional cards Japan has been receiving; they could have easily put those in instead of reprinting Pokémon like Granbull or Arbok. Both the Noivern and the Sylveon confuse the opponent, so the alternate artwork of Full Heal that Japan received could have easily been slipped in. And instead of putting in a reprint of an Arbok that blocks abilities, there was a Trevenant that works with Special Conditions that would have been a welcome replacement. And the Slurpuff that puts the opponent to sleep. These three additions alone would have improved the trainer kit, made it much more popular, and would have eliminated a few other cards that will most likely end up as set filler everyone will be disappointed about later. So no, I don't really want to see more Trainer Kits, especially if they are just rehashes of the disappointing ones released nowadays. I'd rather see better ones.

The question is, can players learn the game with just what is given in 2 theme decks?

Would it be better if trainer kits were completely replaced by vs decks that are 2 60 card decks that are meant to be faced against each other, and are balanced against each other? These decks would be released every year, and contain cards from every single standard legal set.

What kind of an annual preconstructed deck product beyond theme decks do you think are great ideas?

1. The trainer kits?
2. The all holo deck?
3. A deck that is more competitive and costs more?
4. Something similar to the epic collections that contained Megainum ex, Feraligatr ex, or Typhlosion ex?
5. A preconstructed deck that teaches alternate formats like 2 vs 2, or team battles?
6. A package containing 2 preconstructed deck built to be balanced against each other?

I don't care about 1. 3.

I would really like the others to happen, especially 2. and 4, since they have done something like that before. All I would really like to see that are precons that aren't set associated, and contain pokemon cards from different sets. Red Genesect collection only contained pokemon from Plasma Blast, and would have been better if it contained cards from other Plasma sets, or even the sets from 2012.

anyone notice the packaging glue on the xy trainer kit isn't very good compared to the theme decks? the glue on the black/white ones wasn't very good either. hope they fix it for the next version of trainer kits.

So, uh, what's the name of this deck when you punch in the code online? Black and White trainer kit is called Night Hunter.

It should have a picture of the box it came in.
Night Hunter had the previous trainer kit box instead of just a deckbox.
