Remember that Gardy has been protected well by the fact that it is so hard to play fire-weak Grass decks, something that will change if Blaziken decks become less prevalent. Gardy will also lose Boost energy soon, Blaziken will not suffer a similar hit when the Expedition block is removed from Modified.

The problem with Blaziken decks is that they do well (at least 40%) even against decks that are made specifically to beat them (this was the same problem we had with Feraligatr where even a grass deck had serious problems beating it).

It's not like we can't play Blaze. The more dominant players here just choose not to. It's more fun when you can play something original and not worry about being pwned by Blaziken.
