I had this encounter in a game yesterday and didn't act on it because I had no idea what would happen. Then I asked about it in different places online and everyone had a different fact answer to give so I'm now turning to you to solve this issue.
My opponent plays Yveltal (BKT) with Fright Night ability and a Bursting Balloon attached. I attack with Greninja's (BKP) Shadow Stitching that turns off all abilities until the end of your opponent's turn. The question here is, what is the order of these operations and will my Greninja be hurt by the balloon?
I've basically got three kinds of answers so far:
1. Shadow Stitching becomes effective immediately and Bursting Balloon checks at the end of the turn whether it got damage or not -> damage to Greninja is applied
2. Damage was done while Fright Night was active and thus the Bursting Balloon doesn't activate. It is discarded at the end of the turn.
3. Shadow Stitching happens after Bursting Balloon applies any damage, hence Fright Night is still shutting it down and Shadow Stitching turning off Fright Night happens last.
Can you help me out here?
