Ahhh ZREm what an amazingly frustrating deck. I have a simple question though, when did this deck come out and start appearing. My bro and I were at Worlds 05 and we had been off the gym for like 4 weeks before worlds and when we got there we had no idea what ZRE was and my brother lost to the deck 3 times, his last time being in top 16.

ZRE was made sometime during the GC season last year I belive albeit wasn't popular at all. Most people dismissed it as a "not deck" but before Worlds some people (including myself [8-0 swiss], TrEkiEv [sp?] [T32], Wes/Gengar [T32], and Andrew K/hyper eevee [T4 11-14]) thought/knew it was a good deck. Go also played it and went 8-0 with it only losing to a mirror in T32 vs another Japanese player.

After Worlds the deck exploded in popularity in the CC season but once BLS was found, the deck slowly died out. I managed to win my last 2 11-14 tournies (a CC and a State) with it and recently have tried new ideas with it but to no real avail.

HTH

Yup, it became at the GC season. I think someone posted a ZRE list to here at gym but many people just said that it sucks and it has too many bad starters etc. crap(including myself). That was my opinion until I lost to Wes at Worlds even he had Zapdos start =P

ZRE would be a good deck if LBS haven't came out. LBS eats the deck almost everytime IMO. But I think it could have slight suprise opportunity at Worlds this year too. Well we'll see.

Ahh!
ZRE what a beautiful and expensive deck.
It won me a city and a state. Very proud of the deck. Sad to see it go.
It pwns when you play it right. Blow Trode up, pow their strongest monster. Move all energy to Quazza or Zappy and gg sir!
Love the deck
GC season last year sounds right.

It does have a lot of crappy starts, but it sure doesnt suck. It came in second place at the Indianapolis CC's. (Poliwag92)

And 3 other top 5 finishes.

But sadly, the deck is near extinction. It would take guts to play it at Worlds.

So although it came out around GC last year, it wasn't BIG till practilly just before worlds, and even then mostly in 11-14?

Yea I guess that sums it up. I wouldn't say just the 11-14 tho, there was only 4 or so players with it in the 11-14 and around the same in the 15+.

I bet that what really gave ZRE its popularity boost last fall after Worlds was Yamatos AMAZING stunt at the free play area at the hotel last year. ZRE seemed the deck that could beat anything when you judged it from Yamatos playing ....

ZRE, LBS, SMP. People are so unoriginal!

Three capital letters was a trend for a long while it seems, but now the new trend is mixing two Pokémon names together. Lunasol, JynxFett, RaiEggs, Mynx, and the list goes on. I don't really know it that's any better. The only name out of these which turned out really good was "Mewtrix". I really do love that particular name, though. :D

I name all my decks 'sorry, your dead!'

Lol. Unless it already has a name like ludicargo or something. Hopefully, my new 'secret deck' I'm working on in my black and red notebook will be good, and nobody will think the deck up, and gives it a stupid name.

I always figured ZRE was just the next evolution in Zap-turn-dos, not that they are brothers, just ZRE was an upgrade.

Stupid names? Nah. No one's ever done that. Especially not me with Scallions. :thumb:
