Has anyone here seen the Japanese series, Chobits? I ran into this show randomly, and ever since the first episode, I've been hooked! It's hilarious, witty, and is a great way to learn the small words and some Japanese format and style. Anyone else out there seen this show?

When you say "Japanese series" do you mean the fact that it is by the japanese manga-ka group CLAMP or do you mean the subbed Japanese version? I have not seen the anime, only read a bit of the translated manga. It seems good so far (only read volume one or so.)

the subbed versions. I'm sure that if I knew Japanese a LOT better, It would be better, because some of the translations seem really choppy and questionable. I think that Hideki is the funniest guy ever; he's so easily turned on for weird reasons, and he is so ignorant about everything!

I've seen the first 5 episodes of the anime and have read the first volume of the manga. It's not bad, but... slightly disturbing. xD; But then again it's like, what? 16+? I was a wee bit under that when I read it. ...I still am. >>;

I havn't read the manga, but I can see how the show can be a little bit risk-ay. I like how they push the show to the border, but never pass the line. Who is your favorite character so far?

I've read the entire manga and watched sub eps 1-3 and dubbed ep 13. It's great :)

I heard they actually changed the anime to make it less "vulgar" than the manga. ( don't know if it worked. Chobits is rated 16+ at least, but I'm twelve so, yeah. It doesn't bother me, but if you're one o' those close minded people then it's a different story. I mean if you think the "vulgar" parts are evil or "inappropriate" or whatever. I just grew up this way.) At least that's what it said in Newtype USA when they interviewed the director and a CLAMP member (I think.)

hehehe
Actually, when I was posting that, I was half thinking of digging up my digital camera and photographing all my stuff to link for each of the items I mentioned there that I own :p
Oh CDs too... I forgot to mention I have the 3 soundtrack CDs. And playing cards I got from a Japanese store here.
But I don't know where my digital camera went...
EDIT: Nope, I found it. Pictures linked up in previous post :D
The only thing that dissapoints me about the anime is they took out the cross-product refrences. Or some of them at least. Particulary the Angelic Layer ones :( Come on it's just not as fun to think of without Icchan in there :( ;). And you don't understand some of the other character refrences, like Kokobunji's older sister.
I like the ending for the anime better. It's just evil :D

I like Icchan though, he's funny. Is there a TCG Chobits game? I've got some Japanese cards, but they just have artwork.
