Now that I'm not in El Seg anymore and Fri/Sun are my days in the South Bay, we've moved the league from the El Segundo Library to

Mira Costa High School Room 67

We'll still have City Championship, etc. at the Library but I can't reserve the room or get to the room regularly (unless they change policy to let us have it Sun. Afternoons).

ANYWAY -

Turnout Friday was 13. A lot of our players haven't found the new place yet. I spoke to people representing 5 more players and they are going to come (some this week & some next).

I anticipate we'll continue to build. The new format is a blast and the leage materials are the best ever.

BTW, korythatsrightmare is the new premier trainer from last week. We have some folks with new cards and some with old, so there is something for everyone (tho' were all building toward modified decks for City Championships coming up).

Come when you can, and you can slide right in to playing someone. We have a no consecutive play rule (play someone different from the last match each time). We do close up at 8:30.

OK folks, we will be in Knot Island for this week AND the 29th. Boon season doesn't start until the 30th. So, those of you still working on it have a chance to earn your badge & your Knot Island Challenge sticker.

The next two weeks are going to be deck mechanics weeks. We had a few decks that didn't shine at the last couple tourneys, so I would like the senior members to plan to give some time and to trade some cards to help me fix those up. I found a good use for the Worlds decks even if they aren't tournament legal. You can use them to test your decks. Instead of trying to figure out a good test deck you could just buy one that was already proven to be good.

There certainly can be! The season starts on Saturday. So, I figure it shows you can do so. Some retail locations close to shoo people out of the store for paying crowds at holiday shopping time.

Due to the holiday break and the extended (8 week vs. normal 6) week Kin Island season -- and the fact that our normal league night was going to be Christmas & New Years Eve -- it was decided not to have league again 'til January 7th.

I am holding drafts Wednesdays Dec 22 & 29 5:15PM at Mira Costa High School RM67 for those interested. First one will be Dragon and second will be Hidden Legends. These are sanctioned tourneys. Admission is $5 and only the first 12 players to contact me will be admitted to the event due to limited availability of product. PM me stating that you're definitely interested in coming so I can hold your spot. Energy will be provided.

If you recall lookinforwailordex I beat your Team Magma's Zangoose by Dark Draining(Dark Crobat) away all the damage you did to me with Team Play. I also lost in the final round to Sean B. cause I drew almost no Enrg or Draw(all I did draw were evo's).

Sorry to miss two weeks in a row. Last week was kept late at work and it was pouring. This week I was hoping up to the last minute that they would get the remains of the house-sized boulder (and close up the 30 inch water main they broke) off of PCH, but no luck. Both canyons to east are closed (Topanga & Malibu) so, I'd have to wait in the commute out Kanan to Westlake before heading for the South Bay... 3 hours in the car most likely.

So, as soon as they fix the coast road I'll be back. Keep track of your points ... I'll make sure you guys get caught up on your Floe Island points next week.

This is a long event, but that means lots of matches. The best players in our region will be there and this means not only good competition, but also that we have to show up and represent our league, because we have some very fine players and multiple champions as well.

There's been some trash talking and some people go to these events JUST to win. I hope you guys and gals will let your best shine through, even when there is a problem. Never let someone drag you into an argument. Look for a judge, or Dan or myself.

bulbasnore's tips:

Shuffle your opponents deck to start a game, even if its a buddy.
If there is a problem or question, stop play and call a judge. Its too late afterward.
Leave as much of your stuff as you can in the car.
Keep what you bring into the event inside a closed bag/pack and keep it in sight.
Be yourself, be friendly, support your leaguers and have fun.
