You're meaning Rurouni Kenshin by Nobuhiro Watsuki, not Samurai X, right? Anyways, I like Rurouni Kenshin, and Himura Kenshin himself is a great person. I'm not sure what this thread is useful for, but hey, who cares! KENSHIN!

Yes, I like Rurouni Kenshin. It's just too bad he ** **** **** * *******... :nonono:
The episodes are okay, the way he talks is funny, and the fighting is amazing. They should have it on more often, though.
EDIT: I guess no one wants to know the spoiler. :)

I like Rurouni Kenshin because 1) You can actually say you are learning something, 2)It's funny 3)It's made by an awesome guy and 4) It's just plain awesome. There, I gave my reasons.

I am so curious now. What precisely is it that you're learning? Granted, yes, there is quite a few things you can understand and observe if you've already know your history from that era, in that country, but other than that, nothing really seems to come to my mind.

It should've ended after Kyoto though. They ran out of manga so started making up stuff for the anime, and since it sucked so much they never got back to making the rest of the manga plot into the anime. I heard this is what is happening to Inu Yasha right now, and that when it ends it will resume after the manga has "caught up", but this is only what I have heard.

Yes, Joshman, that's true, but it really didn't bother me. Well, the Meiji era, and Tokugawa, the person all did exist. The basis of the story is all true, just not the characters (some) and even so, the characters were all based on real people. Therefore, I am learning. (I can also learn the Hiten Misturugi style. LOL)

Can anyone else besides me pronounce the final attack of the Hiten-Mitsurugi ryu, Amakakeru-ryu-(no)-Hiramekki? (Well, NOW you can!) Anyways, I like RK because it's a) Funny B) I like to hear Kenshin say his final attack C) I think Sojiro is DA BOMB! :) and D) How can you not love a show with some killer wearing a pink shirt?
Kenshin: It's Magenta!
Me: Sure, and you caught Kaoru a catfish!
Kenshin: Ummm. . . I did.
Me: Oro?!?

essence, and I think that this is quite possibly the best dub on TV today.

I also believe Shishio would have beaten Kenshin if he didn't go inferno. Kenshin is strong, but his stamina has weakened due to his lack of "true battle." Saito recognizes this. (But Sojiro is STILL cooler! Saito is sooooo egotistical! :) )
Joshman

Saito was stronger than Kenshin because no part of him was holding back, Kenshin is almost totally on the defensive when he fought Saito at Kamiya Dojo and we never see a full battle between Saito and Kenshin during the Bakumafu. Obviously Shishio was stronger than Kenshin since he could hold off Kenshin, Saito, Aoshi, and Sanosuke.

IMO, Kenshin is one of the best Samurai animes there are. It proves people can change, and it isnt easy. Samurai X is pretty good as well, but verrrrry violent =x

isn't Samurai X just the continuation of Ruroni Kenshin?
isn't Samurai X just the continuation of Ruroni Kenshin?
*incorrect answer buzzer went off*
Actually, with Samurai X (which I despise the name in all my life), the first two OVAs are before the series and the 3rd one is after the series.
If you did watch the first two OVAs (forgot the names of them), you would see that Kenshin actually kills people (a lot) in many ways possible (heres a hint for one of them: Think of AT&T's slogan "down the center")

do u actually own any of the series? If so, I'd love to see it. I've always thought that Ruroni Kenshin was the best dub that I've ever seen, and I want to see more of it than just once a week...
Unfortunately, I don't own any of the series. I just managed to remember a lot from when I saw the first two OVAs at my friend's party.

Yeah, but I was informed that there were about 7+ dubs on the OVAs.
I do know, for a fact, that Best Buy or a Borders/Barnes and Noble might have some of the DVDs for sale. But if you are looking for the 3 OVAs, expect the 3-pack to be around $100.

Or like $63 http://store.yahoo.com/animenation/dsx-100.html but I have also seen Trust and Betrayal for about $27 (on one DVD) and Reflection for $27 as well. I have the entire Kenshin series (TV, OAV, and Movie) on legitimate DVD, the dubs aren't bad on the OAVs but you do notice a difference from the TV actors (even though the events happen 10 years before the TV, and some years after). I dunno about the movie, I only listened to that subbed.

I got a katana cause i like Kenshin so much ^_^!

I don't think that it's a katana, but make sure that it's "reverse blade" in honor of Kenshin's will not to kill.

I am a sword fanatic. There is no hope for me...
It's a Sakabatou. For all intents a purposes, exactly like any normal Katana, except the blade is reversed.
This is his Sakabatou, specifically.

One minor detail not there: two pieces of the sheath should be missing, cut off in Kenshin's battle with the Oniwaban group.

Well maybe it magically appeared or something. Gosh, now they ran out of those awesome, over-priced RK CDs. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Does anyone know where I can get them? Please, I don't know how long I'll survive!
