[Edit: Story can be found HERE (http://www.pokegym.net/showthread.php?t=9657)]
If you don't mind, may i add some thoughts?
Battling
Brock: As you may have seen in our show, battling with your Pokemon partners seems to be a turn based type battle. WRONG
Ash: Good, fair trainers usually have turn based fights, but other, more ruthless trainers assault and batterize the opposing Pokemon. Not leaving them any chance to defend themselves.
Max: Ruthless?
May: Batterize?
Brock: Most official Pokemon League battles are standard turn based only. But some trainers go into gyms around the regions and quickly earn the badges by cut throat, ruthless battling.
Ash: Its unfair, and it should stop!
(Montage of all the battles Ash has had with people that didn't go "Turn Based" on him, and won that way)
Ash: I'm gonna go cry now.

Eh, so much for on the spot writing. Good job Yosh.

That's actually very interesting to read. Keep up the excellent work, I'll read more when you finish it.
Fairly well thought out and logical.

FYI that's not how Max would say most things. You can ask any of the 15+ members of the Max fan club at serebiiforums.com and thay'll say the same as me. (I'm member #4) If you want you can have me do the things Max would say or tell me what you want him to say and I can reword it so it's how Max would say it. Trust me I know how Max talks and says things because I study him closly EVERY episode and I've seen Jirachi Wish Maker over 100 times.
EDIT:YEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAA THIS IS MY 900TH POST!!!!!!!!!

I realize the dialogue isn't totally natural, but do remember that they're out of character to begin with due to the nature of the "story", just like actors on live-action TV shows at the end of "very special episodes."

It's just that one of my pet peevs is people saying things for Max and not being correct. I can help you with Max's words if you want. All you have to do is PM me what you want Max to say and I'll change it slightly so it says basicly the same thing, but in the true Max's words.

Yeah, great work. Or maybe, great "fun" would be more appropriate?
Oh, and I think The Price is Right joke is because after every episode, Bob Barker reminds people to get their pets spayed or neutered.

Thanks for saying it so I didn't have to. Not every joke in this fanfic is going to grab you by the neck and say, "look at me, I'm obvious!"

"Adoption? I don't get it. Anyways, even funnier than before."
Max is hoping he isn't biologically related to May.

answer to the trainer challenge: Slugma. Fire beats Bug, Rock(he does learn rock moves) beats flying.

Nice try, but no. Rock is supereffective against bug and flying, but Slugma is pure fire.
By the way, since we're halfway through, I'll be putting up an annotated version of the document soon.

*sigh* I know it is not rock type. BUT, unless you said "which one is a better defender against beautifly", Slugma is still the pick. If you actually looked at my post...SLUGMA LEARNS ROCK MOVES, despite it being pure fire type. Trust me, I recently trained one to evolve for my 'dex. Here's something directly from the nintendo FRLG strategy guide, Slugma's page:
Rock Throw-Lv15
Rock Slide-Lv43
So yeah. Slugma ownz beautifly. I think you may not have been thinking outside the box enough.

You're forgetting STAB.
Burninating_Torchic
10/06/2004, 02:29 PM
STAB doesn't matter in this case. It has a stab on it's fire moves(beats bug) and a DOUBLE WEAKNESS ADVANTAGE on it's rock moves. Slugma is the best one, hands down.

There'll be one more viewer mail section, followed by battle rules and the climactic showdown with Team Rocket. So if you want a question answered, now's the time.

Nice Yosh. This is better than your parodies even. Do this for good.
I've been reading since the first post was originally posted, I just have not commented yet.

Problem is, I run out of material for this a lot faster (it's hard to do whole sections).

As soon as my site is back up, I'll put up the fully annotated version. The song at the end has actually been used before (it's a parody of "Need You Tonight" by INXS I originially wrote for Pokemon TCG Worlds 2004). The reason it says "completed" is I intend to add appendices to answer future questions.

Disturbing how well you pulled it off. I'm pretty much a non-fanfic reader, but I've got to say that I could really see the show making off those kind of jokes (If they would work a bit harder on the show, that is...) and you just had such a great way of writting it, honestly. But I have one comment: Why is Ash able to use compleate sentences without using the Pokedex for help? Yeesh, you even gave him a vocabulary. ;)

In all fairness, I don't have to match lip flap or live up to network standards.

Team Rocket wasn't the only one using a teleprompter. ;) Actually, figuring out who could say what was one of the toughest parts of writing this. Brock had the biggest vocaubulary, Max, had the most technical knowledge, and Ash and May...well...
