View Full Version : Professor Rewards Program!!!

When I arrived home tonight I saw a suspicious looking brown box sitting on the living room floor. I know those boxes come from PUI because the League materials and sanctioned tournament support come in them. However, I have my current League kits and I haven't sanctioned any tournaments lately. So what can it be I wondered ....

The letter started out "Dear Pokemon Professor". It went on to describe how the Professor Program will be re-launching in the next few weeks. Testing on an annual basis will be a part of the requirements. Then the surprise part - it said, "The Professor Rewards Program will offer items like this, as well as many more exciting items, for your participation in the program."

In the bottom of the box were the rewards. The letter said they were for helping test the Professor exam. I'm glad I spent some time taking the darned thing. Pretty cool huh?!!!!

My brother got a pair of those, I haven't gotten one yet(already emailed POP about that).

It's a nice "thank you" from PokemonUSA.

I have a feeling that the professors are going to play a more important role in the upcoming year.

Good thing the letter listed what all was in there because one of the items was hiding under a flap.
I would have tossed out the box with it still in there!

Thanks PUI

Just coming home from school, I too saw said suspicious looking box. I didn't recognize the address and was wondering why a box of that proportion was not matching the weight inside (it was too light).

Opening it, I was very happy with the contents. Thank you PUI and POP! Your repeated gifts and support of the game are highly appreciated.

Yes, that was a rather unexpected gift. I appreciate it very much. In the packages I received 2 cards I needed, and a card for another trader too, so that made it all the more welcome.

Thank you, PUI, POP, Nintendo, and whoever else either organized or put up the money for these things.

BTW, for anybody who doesn't already know, I think they come with 3 POP series 1 boosters and 2 FRLG boosters. I got a Chex, RH Hypno, and Celio, all stuff I either needed or didn't have. Thx again.

Also, it said on my sheet that there were supposed to be 4 different items in the box, but I only foun the 2 different types of boosters and the letter. What was the Professor Kit?

Big Daddy Snorlax

What was the Professor Kit?

You have to understand the way POP does packing slips. The Professor Kit refers to all the other stuff that is in the box, which is also listed on the packing slip. It is not an actual item.

That part's a little tricky. We've got a bunch of blanks that we can print your names on. However, due to the low quantity of replacement cards that we need to produce (less than 10), the cost per card is $50+. We love you guys and all, but that's a little steep.

We may end up just sending you a blank and having to wait on the 2004-2005 cards to be printed.

What? You`re saying we aren`t worth it? After all the money we put in the game???

J/K Mike. We understand. I know a whole bunch were printed and Dave had mentioned we would get ours later. I dunno if a blank card would carry any real weight (man, you can just pick up chicks with the printed ones, eh;)) but I guess it`s better than not having one. :p

Anyhow .... The local school has a laser cutter that can inscribe plastic stock. (there are a few restrictions on material. They also have a cnc mill that could engrave i guess. I doubt if they would charge $50 each probably more like $5 each.

I'd really like a League Leader Organization case or something like that. A place to put the League books, badges, POP Series 1 cards (so they'll be nice and protected), stamp, stamper, and everything else into a nice carrying case. Instead of the box that they came in.

Also a stamper that doesn't suck.

Well, yeah, my finger tips got pretty messy last league session (holding the little bit of rubber between my fingernails and stamping the books that way :o)...need to try and find a better solution before this Sunday :D!!!

Maybe the 'roller stampers' that we got in the VIP packages :p

P_A
10/15/2004, 10:47 AM
I agree they did make a bit of a mess with some people's books as well - transferring onto the opposite page, but at least ours still works. One thing we found helps is to use a different color marker to make note of attendance when the kids first get there, so we know exactly how many points they earn per session.

pkmnmstr14
10/15/2004, 12:21 PM
Well I still use the stamper but i made some changes: the rubber piece came off during shipping and i super glued it back on and now I am thinking of using a permanent ink pad.

SteveP
10/15/2004, 01:14 PM
I still have a couple of the old WOTC ink stampers. I think I'll start using them instead of the messing PokeBall stamp. Self-inking stamps are the way to go (although quite a bit more expensive -- I know because my business orders stamps by the thousands and our cost for self-inking stamps are LOTs more than wood-block stamps).

IvesRountree
10/16/2004, 09:12 PM
i had my first one stolen, but this second is glued to a very comfy ergonomic pen (after removing it from that not-so-ergonomic wooden stick) , and we use a different ink, it works wonders.
