glaceon's attack snow cloak.. one blue energy does 30 dmg.. flip a coin. if heads, prevent all effects of an attack, including damage, done to glaceon during your opponents next turn..

ok.. does that also prevent cards such as sableeye's attack of impersonate.. that does not attack glaceon but lets him search his deck for a supporter and play it instead of attacking..

to me it seems that it does.. but everyone i play against says no because its not a direct attack against glaceon.. i say it does b/c even tho its not an attack against glaceon.. its still an attack and glaceon's attack "PREVENTS ALL EFFECTS OF AN ATTACK" on your opponents next turn..

someone please settle this for us..

As you note, that does nothing to Glaceon, so it is not prevented.

In the part of the attack that you quote, you're leaving off the important phrase, "done to Glaceon".
That's important.
If the effect is being done to some other Pokemon, a player, or another place in the game, like the deck, then it is not prevented.

Just to drop in a bit of history: Wizards of the Coast made a mistaken ruling similar to what you want back in 2002, and quickly had to reverse it because the consequences of the ruling threw the game into chaos.
It is not a minor difference. Playing it the way you want would be horrible for the game.
