Sorry if this has been asked before, couldn't find it...

Whenever I catch a holo card, it is noticeably bent and therefore will be easy to spot in my deck. I can see whether this holo is in my prize cards or where it sits in my deck. I'm a bit worried to try to unbend them "manually" as I don't want to make it worse or bend it on the other side. Doyou have any tip to solve this issue?

Many people use proxies in a tourney and keep the real cards off to the side, and reveal them when their proxy counterparts come into play... But thats mostly in tournaments. If you want a day to day solution... well yes... I have in fact tried to manually un"bend" my Donphans, Garchomps etc. Obviously this is not the best solution, but Im not sure what else can be done.

Sorry for the n00b question, but what exactly is a proxy? From my understanding it could be a card (marked on its face with a pen, I suppose) that "takes the place" of a holo, but when you put in play, you replace it with the original.. Is that it?

a proxy is a replacement card, that you cab prinet out. if you want one, look at the pokegym supporters and go to bebesearch.com.

proxies are illegal in tournament play unless okay'ed by a judge, who is technically only allowed to do it in case of card damage.

...however, very severe bending as mention in the original post can be classified as damage.

You should speak with a judge/the HJ of a tournament, and show him/her the bent card. If they deem it as a problem, they can issue a proxy, which will probably just be an energy card that says "X card" on it, and you can keep that card outside of your deck. When the proxy comes into play, show the real card to your opponent, and you should be cool. This has happened a lot recently with the Primes.

As far as fixing it yourself, just try to bend it the other way, but be smart about it. If you're super worried about it just don't play with it, I suppose.

Good luck!

You can also just sleeve it and stick it in a dictionary the day before the tournament.
