With many standard archetypes dominating the format, one must wonder what would happen if I, don't know those archetypes were banned from tournament play? What I'm getting at is that what I would like to do is once players sign up pull names of crappy rares from a hat and assign them that card and a line picked out of a hat to that player to base a deck around. Format will be Dp on. Although I'd like to, I won't be playing so I can't give myself an advantage. Unless you and your opponent can agree on an alternative, redshark is the default simulator. The matches will be playede bo3 style.

8 people = 3 rounds

Why not let the meta balance itself by offering a pool of crappy rares? Include the ones you have already PMed and limit other pokes to 1 copy per deck. If we end up with a lot of mirrors so be it. Then it will come down to deck construction and play skill.

TBh I don't really know what you mean, but the meta's starting to balannce itself. It''s just that there are some heavy hitters that take masive loads of energy, some cheap hitters that do very little damage, and a few suicidal cards.

Edit to WWNN's later coment: I'm really sorry about that. That is another reason why I scooped. The idea was to deckout the opponent, but Flygon sort of took over.

Happiny and I did play. I lost game 1 and would have lost the second as well if he hadn't scooped. Happiny used Flygon Lv X as support for his rare. However, as it turned out, I basically lost to Flygon. How are others avoiding having their supporting rares from taking over their decks?

I would suppose it's just a SOTG thing, in a way.
Either your opponent will take the challenge seriously, or they won't.
Meh. Other 'good' rares aren't banned, soooo....

I would like to suggest an additional winning condition. You have to take at least 1 prize with your crappy rare. I only suggest this because we have a wide open field for supporting rares that can easily take over a game. What do you think?

That's actually a really good idea. Effectively starting now we are going by by this rule.

ParisC and Kwisdumb, you have until wednessday to finish your match without being dropped.

My suggestion is that the rule still applies.

However, you can choose to donk or win without using your rare but the game counts neither as a win or a loss. You would just suffle-up and start again granting a time extention for the game.

The 1st round started 3 weeks ago... If a match hasn't been done, it won't be done. Keep the rounds to a week otherwise interest from the active players will fade
