Simple Rules question

Something simpler without controversy. I found neither of these in the Compendium.
If I attack with Dark Hypno's Dark Link, can I:
1. Use Dark Pupitar's Explosive Evolution to evolve Dark Pupitar into Dark Tyranitar, and
2. If there is another Dark Hypno on the bench, do Black Magic.

1. No, because of the self-referencing rule. Hypno would perform the attack, but you couldn't evolve it because nothing evolves from Dark Hypno.
2. Sure, don't see why not.

even though nothing evos from dark hypno, till nintendo decides it should, and thatll be a long time from now, i would still think you'd do the ten dmg to all opps poke.
