Out of curiousity, how much was Gardevoir worth during its reign in '08? I wasn't playing then.

Eh, maybe around $10? Not a ton, since it wasn't a staple. Generally, that's about how much the attackers/specific support Pokémon from the most prevalent archetype of an era will go for during their time.

It's probably because it isn't a special mechanic like a Lv X or a Prime.

Luxray is expensive because it's a LV X from a set that had 2-3 LV X per box with 9 LV X in the set. That makes the odds of pulling one worse than 1 in 3 boxes.

The Gardy LV X went for $25-30 at one time iirc.

If the BDIF runs lots of EX/LV X type cards, then they are expensive. LBS and Absolutions were probably at least as expensive as Luxchomp.
