Legends on the Bench?

I have a question about legends.
I understand that you need to play both halves on the Bench at the same time to use them, but does each half count as 1 bench space?
Or does it depend on the Legend?

ex. :a)You can have 1 Ho-Oh Legend on the bench with 4 (max) other Pokemon also on the bench?
Or
b)1 Ho-Oh Legend with 3 (max) other Pokemon on the bench?

ex. 2: a)1 Suicune&Entei Legend on the Bench with 4 (max) other Pokemon on the bench?
Or
b) 1 Suicune&Entei Legend on the Bench with 3 (max) other Pokemon on the Bench?

I hope that makes sense...

I'm assuming A in the first one and B in the second one are correct... am I right?

Well I thought it was one space on the bench, but if you look at the Japanese rules it shows it turned side ways making it two spaces on the bench.
