Spiritomb's Darkness Grace and Nidoqueen's Maternal Comfort

My Spiritomb AR has 50 damage on it and I have a Nidorina on my bench. I use Spiritomb's Darkness Grace attack to evolve my Nidorina into a Nidoqueen RR. Does the damage gt placed before Nidoqueen's Maternal Comfort activates? Or do they happen simultaneously?

Then, between turns, Nidoqueen's Poke-Body is used.

So, Spiritomb is already KO'd by then. Too late.

Correction: I didn't notice that the Spiritomb was Knocked out by using the attack.
