  ~~Time To Get Those Decks Ready~~
The "City Championships" and "ex DEoxys" Pre-releases are over and done. Now is the time to start play testing those decks for the "Oklahoma~State Championship".
There are quite a few of you that are planning to attend the "Texas~State Championship". Let's start planning with each other about car pooling, etc on getting to Houston. MP Birch would like nothing more than to see my favorite Oklahoma Pokemon players sweep the Texas Event!!! As in my "G~HQ" ladys, taking this championship back to Oklahoma. Ladys start play testing!!! This would be the ultra-UBER championship for ya'll to hoist. :thumb: :thumb:
Good luck to all of the Oklahoma Pokemon players that will attend the "Texas~State Championship"!!! And get those decks ready for your State Championship, also. Oh yes, there will be many Texas Pokemon players attending the "Oklahoma~State Championship" as well.
Take care and play test, play test.

MP Birch has not forgotten about the "Oklahoma~State Championship". Just two more weeks to go. And I hear that will be Texas players as well as Colorado players attending. This should be fun!!! With the new mix of players from other states that will be attending.
Good luck to all.

With all the talent coming into this, there's no telling what will happen & who will win.
To prove that point, this weekend, on Friday night's tournament, I won the event. (Haven't done that in a while).
Then at Saturday's tournament I bombed out. (Happens to me a lot).
Then you take Brian D., who at Friday's tournament bombed out. Then at Saturday's tournament he won the event in a good finals against Whicker. He also hasn't done that in a while & it was his first win at Drake's Place/The Game.
We both used the same decks each time except maybe 1 or 2 card changes.
This just goes to show that ANYBODY can win with a little luck!
I'm looking forward to this & to meet people from other areas as well.
Now the question. Will there be a side event after the main event? If so what will it be?

Well Roy, you are forgetting my consistancy. Winning the 3 Drake's Place tournament before the last one and taking 2nd at the last one. Not to mention of getting first or second at the past 3 4th Street tournaments as well
Just asking you not to forget me

 :frown: ~~Oklahoma~State Championship.....Side Events~~ :frown:
Sorry guys, there will be no "Side Events" sanctioned by MP Birch after the "State Championship". This event is just too BIG!!! After the winners are declared, MP Birch will be pooped. I will not run any side events after the "State Championship". I will not take the luster, shine, glory, honor, and pride from these winners when it is over. I prefer to let these players bask in their victory of the "Oklahoma~State Championship". Pictures, please.
We will have "Side Events" at the "Gym Challenges" and "Regionals". :thumb:

An update for the Friday night before this event.
There will be a modified sanctioned tournament held at Drakes Place, (see address above).
In fact starting this Friday, Roger will be having a Friday night tournament. This will be your last chance to test your decks before the main event.
Start time of 7 pm. ?? amount of swiss rounds, then a single elimination playoff.
Entry fee of $3 as usual. Payout to top 4 if 14 players or less, top 8 if 15 or more players.

Those players that have won a "City Championship" don't forget the wear your "City Championship~Medallion" to the "Oklahoma~State Championship" on Saturday, March 12th. By wearing your "City Championship~Medallion", you will receive 5-extra POP Series-1 Promo Packs. If you want the 5-extra POP Series-1 Promo Packs, you must wear your City Championship Medallion while you register.
~~Attention...Attention...Attention~~
Only those players that have won a "City Championship" in the State of Oklahoma will receive the extra 5-POP Promo Packs at the "Oklahoma~State Championship" in Del City on March 12th. ~~Four More Days...To Go... Until The Sooner Nation...Defends Their State~~
Wow, the "Texas~State Championship" was one GREAT tournament. 94-Pokemon players battled it out until the end. This event was as close to the "World Championship" that I have seen this season. And MP Birch knows that the "Oklahoma~State Championship" will be no different. I will let you know now that these players that attended the "Texas~State Championship" had their "A-Game" on last Saturday!!! So, you had better be ready and bring your "A-Game" with you to have a chance.
There has been a lot of discussion on the boards about the deck that Johnny Kettler won the "15-Over" age group with last Saturday. At this point, there are any number of decks that can win. It depends on the match up with your opponent. For every deck out there, there is a deck that can counter. Be wise and consider the deck that will do the best over all. :thumb:
MP Birch will be leaving "Birch Manor" on Friday afternoon around 3:00-3:30pm to drive to OKC. I have one seat open for a player that needs a ride from the Dallas area. If you would like a ride, you need to PM or email me asap.
Good luck on Saturday at the "Oklahoma~State Championship". And don't forget that the "Oklahoma~GBA State Championship" starts before the main event. Be there EARLY if you plan to play in the GBA Event.
Take care and I will see you this Saturday at "Drake's Place". Bring those "Professor Birch" cards for MP Birch to sign.

~~The Oklahoma~State Winners Are~~
Master Professor Birch again would like to thank all of the Pokemon players that made it down to "Drake's Place" in Del City for the "Oklahoma~State Championship" on Saturday. Great job by the judges as usual. Thank you, Dr. Davis (Head Judge), Brian D. (our New Judge), and Roy Sr. (old man). A truly outstanding job!!! MP Birch thanks "Drake Place", the true diamond gaming store of OKC and its owners, Roger and Billy for allowing us to hold this event there. Thank you to all of the players. Ya'll do not really realize how much MP Birch appreciates how ya'll always make me seem as I am one of your family when I come to Oklahoma and put on these premier events. By far, I would rather come here than any place else for my the events that I do for Pokemon USA, Inc. THANK YOU, and when I die I want to go to OKlahoma!!! :thumb:
And the winners are:
"10-Under": Nathan D. (Outstanding job of playing Pokemon all day and extreme sportsmanship. Some of us could learn a thing or two about winning from this player.)
"11-14": Glen P. (Great win and this age group just keeps getting better and better.)
"15-Over": Matt F. (Great job with that Blazi-Deck!!! Is Blazi really dead, yet???)
"GBA": Clay C. (Back in the winner's circle, again. Nice trophy.)
Again, MP Birch had a great weekend. Starting off with dinner with the "Game HQ" ladys. And all the way through the "Oklahoma GBA~State Championship" to the finish of the main event. I can't wait to come back in April 30th for the "ex Emerald" Pre-release.
Oh yes, did I mention that Nicole N. finished 2nd in the "15-Over". And Emily M. finishing 3rd in the "10-Under". Both from "Game HQ".
