F knuckle down (30) This attack's damage isn't affected by Poke-Powers, Poke-Bodies, or any other effects on the Defending Pokemon.
with cleffa or mime jr being common in hgss on, the flippy invincible babys are going to be annoying
is this a possible solution -
or if machoke's power doesn't work in this case tell me, lol
thinking that pokemon circulator might be better

Yes it gets around it.

It works, but that is devoting at least 3 spaces to just counter a starter. Its not worth it.

Tyrogue.....

His attack only circumvents Weakness and Resistance, not Poke-bodies.

You start Tyrogue they start Cleffa. If you go first, you get a free prize and a wall to hide behind.

What point is there in Tyrogue versus anyone who isn't Cleffa, though?

What point was there to running Tyrogue back in neo days? To donk a Cleffa. Same goes here.

What does Machoke TM do vs anything not Cleffa?

Becomes Communication/Junk Arm fodder.
but even then, a stage 1 just to counter a baby which might wake up anyway resulting in a free prize for the opponent anyway seems highly uneeded, unless you're up against people who always happen to flip tails when it comes to your turn but heads when it's theirs. In which case you flip the table and shout "shenanigans" :thumb:

What makes you presume I endorse teching in Machoke in the first place?

and i am also playing a water deck...
poor reshiram:(
Teching a stage one with specific energy requirements against a flippy starter is probably not worth it. However, if there is a basic Pokémon requiring colorless energy to do the same, it might be smart to include in decks trying to take prizes as quickly as possible.

Water doesn't bother an Emboar/Magnezone/Reshiram deck.. Just saying.

Forget Tyrogue.
You want a real Cleffa killer, try Luvdisc. It even has a draw attack! :thumb:

You mean other than evolve and to Machamp and stomp on people's faces? Well, other than THAT, nothing...

HGSS Dunsparce will work just fine. Just PP and Fade out for C.

Emboar: Attach, attach, attach
Magnezone: Roflattack
It's pretty much the same as MagneGatr, but with Fire energy, and can tech in Reshiram to do lolhueg damage.
