Since Disposable Heroes is holding a YGO prerelease, there is no League this week. But i have found (actually Gino did and told me about it) ANOTHER League in RI:

Hey last week of the current cycle! Come for the raffle! Matt & Jared should be there! Hopefully Lindsey will return this week! Hope Douglas makes it! Duncan, Griffin and their mom should hopefully be there! Stephen probably won't as he is on punishment until he gets his grades up but Brian & Chris should be there (unless Chris also gets grounded). And i should be there! And Gino! Maybe we'll take Adam? Who knows? Come to find out!

We'll be having Brian's b-day party on Saturday but Kirsten has agreed to run League!!! But she can only run it from 12-2 so don't miss out!!

And TJ's will be holding League, and even a GC warm up tourney Sat 5-8. We can't go to that either but hopefully you can!

Got the new League kit. Even though i'm supposed to be at a marriage preparation class all day, they said we could leave after lunch so i will leave, get the boys, go to DH, run League, drop the boys back home, and then head back to class to see the end. So that means no TJ's for us.

2! 2 for the price of 1! League will be run Friday night (by Brian since i will be at an Eagle High Court of Honor) from 6-8. Join Brian & Chris and test your city championship deck out!

And while the Johnston CC is 1st priority, if you cannot make it in time for the CC and come for League, you can! You'll just have to realize the CC is priority for me so if you have to wait for your points, you have to wait.

OK League is running this weekend - we had great attendance last week - almost 30 Leaguers each session! WOuld like to break the 30 barrier this week but it'll be tough since i won't be there (marriage prep class). So come have fun and i'll see you next week!

Looks like a regular weekend for once! Except i might not be there Friday night as i might have to go down to camp and do some boards of review. Course this assumes i also have a car (currently in the shop overheating).

I'm hoping for such a good turnout that by the time we're done, it'll be too late for League! Besides, 90% of TJ's Leaguers will be at DH so why not just run it during T4? :D

Can't do a 2 night stay over! hotels are a bit pricey this weekend being Columbus Day weekend.

Hey we went - where were you & Dylan???? (Patty filled me in on your vacation visit to them) And last weekend was dead - only 10 on Saturday. At least i was able to get enough games in to get my Holo Basic Metal Energy!!! This past Saturday was a little better. Thinking about doing Saturday every other Saturday as some Saturday regulars will only be coming biweekly.

Gino, your Masters National Championship wants to celebrate his win so he'll be bringing his trophy and schwag he doesn't want Friday (sorry Saturdayers). He even mentioned pizza (though i think Burger King kids meals would be better).

I would like to go to this league this saturday. It's just that I've never been to or belonged in a league before and would like to know what exactly it is you do. Do you guys trade, have matches, and tournaments? I'm sorry, that probably sounds a little noobish, doesn't it? Anyway, I went to the pre-release here at Johnston for LA and I also went to the ones in Tewksbury and Milford. So, the league is this saturday, the 30th from 1-3 right? Yes there is trading that is done!

Yes there are games played! And recorded! And POP packs earned! And badges!

Tournaments are a horse of a different color. None as of yet (except for the premiere events Mr. Shea puts on). Though that might change.

Yes! It is free! You will find a great group of people at the RI league. We are from NH and get down there every now and then, but not often enough. Go have fun!

Sure. I usually go on saturdays, however I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to this one. I'm actually really sick at the moment :frown:, so it depends on how I'm feeling. Ugh! and it's a new season and all too and I might miss it! Oh well...And the Battle Roads are starting up, so I really hope I'll get better.

And sorry, no Claydols; I only have one and it's currently in my deck. I hope to you Ashinto, and everyone else again soon!

Hey Brian and fellpw Rhodies, long time no see! Tomorrow is my birthday party too! Yay! I forgot that Steven and I were born just a day apart, right? Anyway I'm going to be really busy cooking and all for the party but I want to show up at league tonight. You see I have three Snorlax Xs and 3 Wash Rotoms to trade...and those are the only two Xs and Rotoms respectively that we have actually. Not sure how that one worked out but oh well. Also, I need to test a new deck out and Brett made a deck that he's not happy about: Speedrill.

So around 5:30 or so we were getting things ready and stepping into the car when my aunt and uncle pull into the driveway in a station wagon, broken lawnmower in tow. Suffice to say we got tied up and I ended up cooking dinner for us--Peijing wontons. I guess it's swell and all that they came over seeing as we don't see them that often, and they are a blast really, but I was looking forward to league this week.

Hello, everyone. Just wanted to post here and ask you guys a few questions if I could.

I've been to the store many times in the past for various magic tournaments and I really enjoy the place. Most of my good friends have quit magic and have moved onto bigger and better things. My bestfriend wants to get back into Pokemon, never playing magic himself, and I was just wondering if him and myself would feel awkward. I am pretty sure he doesn't care but I am 22 and have a hard time believing that we will find other players our age (he is 18). To me, magic was such a money sink and without any close friends to enjoy it with...well I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. Plus, I have a 6 month old daughter now and money isn't as expendable as it used to be.

What do you guys think I should do? Should I pack up the backpack and head there with my friend to see how it is or should I just quit now before I sink any money into it? Thanks for any advice.

I guess I shouldn't fear feeling awkward at the age difference but should still be careful about stepping on little kids...kinda hard to see em sometimes when you're 6'3'' lol.

Do you guys do a lot of play testing for premier events at leagues? I know which sets are currently legal for modified constructed, I believe that is what its called, and plan on making a deck after buying a couple of boxes and some singles.

What are these TJ's parties that you speak of? I've been to TJ's, too, but just for premier magic events.

The people mentioned above do lots of play testing for premiere events. That's how 4 of my regular Leaguers got invites to Worlds.

Last Saturday Tom threw a party for the great New England players. In all honesty i expected a bigger turn out - many of the locals did not come. Cake and Pokémon - what could be better? Oh, add friendship to the mix.

What for the announcement in the Prerelease forum - PokeDaddy usually posts them. DH will be doing one FRIDAY NIGHT!!!!!!

Drafts are run after the Prerelease main event. $25. 6 packs. Keep what you draft. Build a 40 card deck (basic energy supplied, just return at the end). We try to get pods of 8 (but we can go larger). Try to get youngsters in one and oldsters in another. If 8, 3 rounds of Swiss. 8/4/2/2 for prize support.

Any legal card is allowed at League. You might have problems if you wish to play in the premier events but that's a horse of a different color. So once you own a card, you can play it at League forever.

Gino, Jon, Alex, Hanaan, Con, Tony, Mama Rock, Marc, Dan, Meg, & Josh are just some of the players who are in the Masters division (15 & up). You might be lucky enough to hit a night Brian shows up.

And you would have fun playing against Aylam.

Oh i see put the "Cherry Picker last i see how it is.....when you want FREE RH from the next set dont be crawling to me...lol anyways speaking of next set has tom set a date for any prerealses?

And will the 23rd/24th days be Only days to draft or will every other venue other than Milford and Cherry Valley include a draft.
