Hey...
Got a Question?? I know if you win two or more states you cannot stack you travellers checks... but what happens if you win a states and a regional?? do they "stack" then?? or does it get denied still?? I am just curious about this...

It's the same prize package (the 300 travel to Nationals & 4 day badge pass) So No. When it comes to travel allowance or invite awards, they are not allowed to be won more than once by the same person.

quoted from POP

(POP Policy is that invitations and Worlds Travel Awards are 'passed down' but that Travel Allowances and Event Admissions are not).

So in the end they see them as 2 totally different types of prizes. They define the 2 and the difference's on the link Joe gave.

To expand on what 'mom said...

A "Travel Award" is when Nintendo/PUI pays for all travel costs to an event. Currently the only Travel Award is for Worlds.

A "Travel Allowance" is a sum of cash meant to alleviate the cost of travel to another tournament. Its not meant to cover all travel costs (whether it does or does not).

An "Invitation" is a qualification to participate in a tournament, not an admission.

An "Admission" is something that is usually bought and paid for by someone for participation. It does not have to be won in order to participate in another tournament.

Because Travel Awards and Invitations are more limited than Travel Allowances and Admissions, they are passed down to the next qualifying player. Allowances and Admissions themselves are not.

That's too bad.

While I think that winning more than one of the same event type (Cities, States, Regionals) is nothing more than ego, a player who has won a States should be able to win a Regional and the allowances/admissions still be presented to the next available player.

I would hope that POP reconsiders this.
