A couple Questions about Play

1: A player is allowed to shuffle and/or cut the opponent's deck. Is he/she also allowed to "pile shuffle," even though it is technically just a rearrangement of the deck? If so, does this rearrangement have to be followed up with a sufficient number of riffles/cuts/natural forms of shuffling?

2: An opponent plays a card that discards his hand (say Professor Juniper), and he - rather than placing all cards on top of the discard - puts half on top and half on the bottom. Is this allowed?

1. As long as too much time isn't taken up.
They're not looking at the cards, are they? If not, there would be no need to shuffle beyond that.
Of course, the other player does have the option to shuffle or cut after they have finished with their shuffle.
