How to put damage on one of your pokemon

I was thinking of a deck strategy of putting damage counters on my own zekrom and using his first attack to defeat the defending pokemon. what can i do to put damage counters on him

donphan, landorus, col raikou, ND luxray. If you play unlimited you can use cards like miasma valley and SV claydol

Rainbow Energy works pretty well, as does Donphan and Landorus as stated by Ace-

Use its second attack Bolt Strike.

Donphan/Dragons (D&D) was a mildly successful deck last season. It involved Donphan Earthquaking until you built up enough damage on Reshirams and Zekroms to OHKO things.

Then came Ross (The Truth), which did everything D&D wanted to do, but better. Vileplume would halt catcher in its tracks, while Reuniclus would keep your pokemon from ever dying.


If you can set it up, Ross is pretty powerful, and with the advent of Kyurem you have a 3rd type that can attack in a similar fashion.
