(April Fools) Pokemon-Yu-Gi-Oh! Crossover event announced

The Kids WB network has announced that there will be a Pokemon-Yu-Gi-Oh! crossover event. The one hour show will feature characters and elements from both shows. Ash will go one-on-one with the "King of Games" Yu-Gi-Oh! in an epic battle of Pokemon and another in Duel Monsters. Check your local listings for show times.

Too bad that everybody already knows by now that treating literally any announcement made on April 1 as serious is a dumb thing to do. I can see something like that being a Kids WB channel event like they do where all the characters babble incessantly between shows, but that's all it would be.

Hey I heard one that there was an Anime expansion pack for Halo 2 out, and Halo 3 had plans to guest-star Inuyasha. I believed the first one, and was doubtful of the second, but both were false, it's been a bad week.

I'd believe it. After all, Scooby-Doo is basically the same plot episode after episode, and so is Pokémon.

They're two completely different styles. What would a crossover do, have Pokémon do battle against YGO's monsters? It would take very powerful BBPs or Stage 2 Pokémon to not get annihilated against most of the high-level YGO monsters. It would take a Legendary to fight any YGO monster level 8 or higher, probably.

I fail to see how the two TCGs' rule systems would be at all compatible...

Going the other way, Yugi could just play a Kuribo and beat down Ash with that. Swinging for 300 damage a turn can't be survived by anything but Jungle Mr Mime (I think; might be some others, Erika's Dratini maybe, I forget).
