Not to mention the cool video game side event tournaments I have planned for both events! While details are well still in the works, I hope to have two unique Super Smash Bros. Melee tournaments and two GBA/Colosseum tournaments between the two events! Details are all coming up soon.

Do you know if there is going to be one in Lakewood to or is there not going to be one there because of the other two gym challenges

04/19/2005, 01:59 PM
Two CO PTOs got Gyms -- Dwayne and Ron. Ron picked Wheatridge to have his (it's the furthest from Springs).

So no, Lakewood is not having a Gym (PTO Chris), and neither is Ft Collins (PTO Craig).

Come to both Gyms. They're only about 100 miles a part. That's better than most states.

too bad wheatridge isnt first so I could work at springs maybe Ill work it anyways since mike will win anyways then Ill go win hopefully at wheatridge

Go for Regionals first Adrian then if you don't get one there take Gym.

04/22/2005, 02:06 PM
hopefully, michael will finish top 2 at regionals. that will clear the way for you adrian at either of the gyms. your main competitors will be Ian, Paul, and maybe Jared. plus, Dwayne tells me some AZ players might be coming. traveling players are usually good.

oh yah, and don't forget Kevin, Luke, and Eric from up north.

All is said and done. 56 players total. I bit lower than expected, but still not bad for an off-site tournament. (Our on-site States -- at the store -- had 94 players.)

18: 15+
27: 11-14
11: 10-under

Winning decks were:

1st - MikeP - Power-lock (Medicham/EX/MukEX/Wobby)
2nd - JaredC - Draggy-trode
3/4 - RonP - MedichamEX/Beedrill/stuff
3/4 - KevinH - Zappy

1st - JoshR - DkTTar/Rock
2nd - AlexH - Slaking/Meteor
3/4 - JoshA - Green Sponge (Sceptile/Slowbro)
3/4 - GaryD - Rock-lock

1st - ShaneH - Gardy/Deoxys
2nd - JohnC - Medi/EX/Hari/EX
3/4 - PabloK - Zappy
3/4 - KevA - Crobat

So, I guess because of my #1 son's luck, I'll see you all at Worlds. :)

- Holiday Inn for being VERY hospitible
- PTO Dwayne for the best-as-usual PTO support/prizes
- Judges PaulK, EricC and James for helping out
- Craig for running after-tourney side events
- The wireless LAN at Holiday Inn so we could download the printer drivers we forgot to install
- All 1-loss players made the playoffs (and a few 2-loss players)
- JoshR and AlexH for their usual, fun banter as they ONCE AGAIN competed against each other of the top prize (someday Alex.....)
- PaulK who almost ruled that taking prizes after your opponent explodes their ElectrodeEX is optional (got a chuckle from me -- you know I love ya Paul... )

- The 15+ players who couldn't quite bring enough of their friends so we could run top 8 instead of only top 4
- no more slop...

(son-of-SteveP here, MikeP) :don't have a log in:

Ok, this is definately the luckiest I have ever gotten in a tournament. Let me lay it out for you.

Game 1: Opponent gets a lone cacturne

Game 2: Opponent starts with a Zappy ex

Game 3: Opponent's opening hand has 4 dunsparce and no energy

Game 4: Opponent had a lone meditite with no fighting energy after he mulliganed 3 times.

Game 5: Opponent has a lone Jirachi

Game 1: Opponent has no energy for first 5 turns after he mulligans once

Game 2: Opponent has no energy for first 4 turns after he mulligans once

Game 1: Opponent has no energy for first 4 turns

Game 2: Opponent has no energy for first turn then second turn rocket mission for 4 and still none.

Sorry about the bad luck to all of my opponents!

(back to SteveP)

- EXTREME props to AlexH for being truthful and telling the judge about the SERIOUS deck error he had (5 dunsparces) after round 2 resulting in a 3rd round game loss which nearly kept him from making the playoffs (barely making it in the 8th spot).

- To me for playtesting my kid's Power-lock deck against a Rock-lock test deck and not figuring out why the Power-lock was always losing, until I checked and discovered there were 64 cards in the Rock-lock test deck.
