Study. Far better in the end, you can't put on your CV (well technically you can) "went to/won Pokemon Worlds 2005"

Neither. San Diego's too far away (and my decks aren't good enough), and I graduated from college in 1999, so neither.

I'll go if I win a trip (not likely). For me, school would've been in session for at most a couple weeks (estimation based on me not remembering either the date of Worlds or the start of the semester), so whatever school I miss shouldn't be too hard to catch up on. Or at least I would hope so.

Go. A week off school will not kill you. If you have the opportunity, go. There is more to life than one week of school. If you can go and still pass, DO IT.

I've got a lot of tests lately, but all I'm doing is counting the days for the Emerald's prerelease.
Its hard to study with that set in my head.
(and, of course, making decks)

I think the question here is, what would Criminal do?

i think this is a no brainer Pokemon>study. You can study any other time of the year, worlds is just like 3-5 days.

Best advice given so far. Go to Worlds. No way that 3 days is going to kill any of your grades.

In some cases, yes, a week off from school can kill you. How about this? Ask your teacher how many classes you have missed and if you can afford to miss the days required to go to world. If yes, then go, if no, then sorry, maybe next year you will have a better attendance record.

Unless you go to all-year school, then 3 days or so won't kill you considering it is the beginning of the school year.

Yeah, that's true. I didn't take the time to read when this person was taking a trip. But still, you should always check with the teacher and tell them that you will be taking a trip.

School is important, but this is a chance of a lifetime. I think I can hold off on Calculus for a Friday and a Monday, tyvm.

Well you shouldnt miss school for a card game guys. You can get a job and make a living for yourself. You can't make a living by missing school when you don't have a good reason or taking a day off work. Once again I will emphasize this, Don't screw up your life playing a game with fictional characters.

Well I dont think taking 2 days off of school for a card game is neccesary. Its an unexceptable excuse. ditching? Hooky?

GreatGroudon, i'll put it like this
2 Days won't kill ya or take away your chances of going to college
2 Days of school or 2 days of the time of your life
Besides if you win, you GET a scholarship so thats GOOD not Bad

Yep,
If i win, i'd be overjoyed and probably scream like a little girl, so poliwag, would you not go? Because you act like me saying that you have the time of your life playing the game and winning the biggest tourny there is for pokemon, is a bad thing
Besides a 7500$ scholarship is better than 2 days of school

Hey,some of my best times in life was playing the pokmeon TCG. I gotta admit it was an amazing experience when i went to my first major tournament,ECSTS 2000.
Many players have thier best years in this game and thats nothing to be ashamed about.
